I got my chemo curls in 2020 *

They showed up in March, 18 months after finishing chemo. It was a surprise. Our family has been so very lucky, we are all still working and no-one has tested positive. Our social lives have been very quiet but then again I didn't mind not having to get together with the in-laws. They probably feel ...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

You quite literally dodged a bullet by being there so early.

Hope you have great scan results.

Is it wise to compare 2019 obesity rates with 2007 CRC rates?

Re: Who is on your team?

.....BTW, I consider all of you as part of my team. This is so true. Thank you for bringing it up. Just as a side note on the subject of having your surgeon on your team, I thought once my surgery was done I wouldn't see the surgeon again. Wrong. Not only will she do my colonoscopies, she wants to ...

Will you be posting hourly or minute by minute updates on prep day? Kind of like TSN's James Duthie on NHL trade deadline day....

Book recommendation...

"Daughter of Family G" by Ami McKay Just released two weeks ago, it's a biography and a memoir all at the same time and a truly excellent read. It tells the history of how Lynch Syndrome was discovered and expands on a documentary that Ami created 15+ years ago. https://www.cbc.ca/radio/th...

Re: What to expect when chemo is finished

Wife2jeff, one thing that hasn't been mentioned yet is how long it may take your husband to get back to normal energy levels. I finished chemo in August 2018 and it wasn't until April or May this year that I felt normal again. That may be partly due to diet as I had no desire to eat much until Feb o...

Re: Take me away to that special place - Picture Thread

We went to Peterborough this weekend. Our original plans got kiboshed so we ended up taking a boat trip down the river to watch the air show. It was an awesome experience. Planes were at times probably less than a kilometre overhead. Highlight was the CF18 display (I was thinking of Pyro the whole t...

Re: When I started chemotherapy...

Breaking news (from 10 days ago) - Scanned August 27th and my review appointment with the oncologist was Sept. 12th. It was clear!!! CEA was 2.4. I’m not a smoker but it appears to be my normal. In March 2020 it will be a CEA test only, no ultra sound or x-ray, then next scan in August. If all is go...

Re: Take me away to that special place - Picture Thread

Hi Stu, I tried Imgur first but had the same problem as Lee did with it not recognising the photo even after resizing. So I used CRguy's recommendation imgbb.com. It's easy, but a word of caution - You need to create an account to upload any photos so if you are concerned at all about privacy be car...
