Stopping clinical trial

I decided to stop my participation in the clinical trial. The side effects were just too much. Worse than any chemo I've ever done and I've done most of them. It's been three weeks since my last infusion and I'm still incredibly weak, still lack appetite and I'm still dealing with back pain. I've lo...

Re: Incontinence

For me, nothing ever worked and I opted for a permanent colostomy. It gave me my life back and I've never regretted my decision.

Re: Oxi allergy today..what happens now??

I had a reaction to oxi as well. Mine occurred within minutes of starting the infusion. I was told this was unusual and because it happened so quickly oxi was no longer an option for me. I've heard of others being able to try it again as CRGuy describes.

You know he will always be with you and so proud of all you have achieved. It's good to hear from you with an update on your life. I love hearing that despite the sadness, our children can and do carry on. It's what all of us as parents want.

Re: Low grade fever? Someone talk me off the ledge, please.

I think so long as that tumors inside you you're going to want it OUT as quickly as possible. As you know, if you test positive for Lynch you could be looking at a much more involved surgery. I'd trust your doctor on this one and wait for the results. Low grade fevers could mean tons of things. For ...

Re: Fluid Build Up Question

Had the thoracentesis done this morning. I've been through worse - but that doesn't mean this is some walk in the park. They drained a liter of fluid from the left side of my chest between the lung and chest wall. Still in some minor pain, hoping it will resolve as the day goes on. Will have to ask ...

Re: Fluid Build Up Question

I was only able to meet with the PA today, but she took copious notes about ALL my side effects and my concerns. She sent me for another X-Ray which showed the fluid build up in my chest is no worse today than it was Friday night; which is good. She spent a significant amount of time questioning me ...

Re: Post Radiation Vaginal Seepage

Post radiation I have virtually no discharge at all. I figure it's because everything got fried. I agree that if the dilation is painful, hold off.

Fluid Build Up Question

Friday night I was in the ER due to a high fever. No obvious reason but the UA they ran showed a bladder infection which they gave me antibiotics for. They also X-Rayed my chest which shows fluid build up - I think between the lung and chest wall. It is not in the lung. This would explain my shortne...
