I would definitely get a second opinion. If you see my signature my case started out at stage 1 according to my first surgeon. But he was wrong. If I was not aggressive in finding second opinions from oncologist and new surgeon it would have been a grave mistake. I ended up being Stage 3A after they...

Re: Had my 3rd FOLFOX infusion this morning . . .

AnnClare I know exactly what you are saying. I am in on my 2nd FolFox infusion treatment and the last few days I have been down a little. But I tell myself I have to do this to get better. It is not easy. It is hard as hell going thru all this. I tell myself that after each treatment I am 8.3 percen...

Re: My Chemo/Radiation notes

WriterGirl 1969 I am finishing up my first round of chemo. It went pretty good. I just had to recover from the insertion of the port and get use to the pump on for two days. I had to figure out what to eat and drink. I did drink lots of water and exercise some. Eleven more rounds to go I am taking o...

Re: Colonoscopy next week..canceled previous two

The procedure is not that bad. The prep is not all that fun. You need to know if you have cancer. If you do and do not find out there will be serious consequences. All procedures have risk but they are minimal for a colonoscopy. If you do have cancer you want to catch it early. In the end it, you ar...

Just started Chemo

The second part of my journey has begun. I got power port on Monday. Started Chemo yesterday. I am on Folfox for six months. I prayed to God to help me and now it is in hands. The oncologist seems confident treatment should go work. Thanks to everyone on the board for their posts on what to expect w...

Re: Question on Port Placement

Had mine done on last Monday. It was placed on my right upper chest. It was a quick procedure. It was a little sore yesterday. I had my first chemo treatment yesterday and it made it easy. I also have an infusion pump on for two days it makes that much easier. I could not imagine having infusion pum...

Re: Post chemo scan today

I had same situation. I had CT scan in September and they saw two nodules in lung same size like you and Dr. were not that concerned. I had follow up scan last week and nodules are the same size so they were not concerned. I pray all goes well with your future scans and blood tests. I just started C...

Re: To Xeloda or not to Xeloda

WriterGirl 1969 let us know how it goes on Xeloda. I will be praying it goes well. I had the choice of Xeloda with Oxi or 5FU with Oxi. Dr said I needed Oxi. I was not aggressive when I first found out I had cancer so I am listening to the doctor now. I want to be as aggressive as possible. I choose...

Squak,

I start chemo FolFox on April 18th for six months. I agree with you everyone has to decide what is best for themselves when it comes to treatment. Everyone is different. I pray all goes well for you.

Re: Lymph negative but one marked as 'i+'

Squak I am in the same situation not happy that surgeon found a pesky cancer cell outside of rectum but relieved he found it so I can get proper treatment. If the cancer was outside of the area he cut than it would have continue on to grow and move. I would have been Stage 1a l with no chemo and the...

Had a Lap Lar surgery. Was not too bad. Walk a lot. Key is the pathlogy report after surgery and what it says about the lymph nodes. I pray all goes well for you.

Re: Lymph negative but one marked as 'i+'

My dx was pt1nc1 where that found two tumors in fat but not lymph nodes. Not sure if same as yours. I was conservative in my treatment and it was not a good decision. I will start chemo in two weeks. I am going to be aggressive in my treatment go forward. I pray all goes well. The choices and decisi...
