Re: Surgery tomorrow..

Have him take the Ativan if the drug anesthesiologist says it’s OK, it’ll calm everyone. I have a colostomy, which is pretty different from an illeostomy but I had a hard time with it and only time made it better. My wife changed it for a few months after surgery until I figured it out. His hands wi...

Re: Pain

Karen, you rock! My concern is the pain is new, 2 years after the surgery! I’ve had scans, surgeons and oncologists address it but they come up empty. I’m learning I pretty much had a pelvic rebuild, everything but urinary track that doesn’t seem to be working well lately. I’ll inquire about the inj...

Re: Trends

Speedy surgery is usually a result of finding it late, otherwise known as emergency surgery. The docs would rather wait, but cancer doesn’t always give that option.

Re: Pain

Thanks! What forum? I had my surgery, complete removal/nothing left, in Jan 2017 and the pain is from the last month or so. I do have a donut to sit on, doesn’t seem to help.

Pain

All Thanks for looking, my name is Matt and I’ve been around a while, just started posting regularly again. I have a question for those of you with a permanent ostomy and all of the back door removed(anus). I am in constant pain back there, and it’s getting worse. I’ve been to specialist, I’ve asked...

Re: Made it almost 2 years, now it’s back. Any MD Anderson advice?

MD Anderson surgically took out 13 tumors and later ablated a recurrence, still hasn’t come back a few years later. Cut that sucker out and move on. Call MD Anderson and tell them to expect a package from your onc, they’ll look it over and, if they can help you, set up a consult. They may tell you t...

Re: Brain Mets

Rough man, sorry, I thought I was young being diagnosed at 38 years old. You’ve been doing this dance about a year longer than me, looking at your signature, i have also been on chemo forever, like 77 rounds and worry about the chemo not working. I echo the Keytruda remarks.

That's right and the only chemo was Xeloda. Definitely has done things right.

And that is an absolute touchdown.

He speaks in circles and gives no specifics, I wouldn’t listen at all. These people are dangerous, dangerous for people looking for hope in a dark situation.

Thanks! I’m worried about the side effects, it could be anything. I hate FOLFURI, but I know what to expect.

Steroids suck, I turn into a monster that doesn’t sleep. I avoid them at all costs.

Re: My CRC with liver mets journey

It was my third open surgery, I’m sure that had a lot to do with it, my core is pretty much gone. I also jumped into chemo after surgery, so that set me back as well. The scars hurt, the hernias are distressing (plus unsightly) and with everything jumbled up in there now, pooping is just strange. Alo...
