Still in NEDVILLE

Got my six monthly CT results yesterday, no sign of local or distant recurrence, :D . Also some improvement to inflamatory changes in abdomen, so still healing two years after surgery. It really does take a long time for the body to get over surgery and chemo. Only blip is surgeon says my bowels are...

Re: Infection after resection

Hi Wa76crc, I had very similar situation and treatment to CRguy, you really need to get access to a surgeon that understands this problem. Like you I was initially given oral antibiotics (4 courses) until I collapsed, was hospitalised, had ileus, TPN and several other unpleasant procedures. That was...

Re: Lymph leak

Hi Swirdfish and BeansMama, Just to clarify, I had the NG tube and nil by mouth because my bowel had stopped working, so I needed it to relieve the pressure in my stomach and stop the vomiting, not because I was having TPN. I would think the invasive part of having TPN is having the PIC line inserte...

Re: Lymph leak

I have no experience of Lymph leak, but I do have experience of recieving TPN, and it was literally a life saver for me. I had lots of problems with abdominal abscess's after surgery, which became really bad after my second cycle of chemo, bowel stopped working for several weeks. Most here probably ...

Re: It came to me this afternoon....I hate

I am too dim to come up with anything orignal to say to help you in this situation, but just know that there are so many people reading this board who think of you and what your family are going through and wish that things will rapidly get better for you. I have shown your post to my family here to...

Re: But I don't want to!!!

Its tough to be upbeat and positive all the time, I know when I was on chemo there were days when I was in danger of thumping the next person who told be I had to keep a good positive attitude. Sometimes its like doing a marathon and all you can do is just keep putting one foot in front of the other...

Re: Ultrasound on the Liver???

Had ultrasound on liver yesterday, the radiologist said I have fatty liver disease mostly likely caused by chemo, he will send full report to my GP. Dont know anything about it other than what I have seen on Dr Google which is that it most likely will not cause any problems but in extreme cases can ...

Re: Ultrasound on the Liver???

Interested in answers to this myself, doctor referred me for abdominal ultrasound as some of my LFTs were'nt right this month (gamma gt? and bilirubin), she thinks it may be caused by my gallbladder. Having it done on 08-02-16. Am almost twelve months out from Folfox. I did ask her why ultrasound in...
