Re: Five years out....

This post made me smile and tear up a bit. I do love a "love story." But I really love a "survivors love story" even more.

Blessings

Re: True or False - Information from oncologist

My first reaction was...get a second opinion. Then I read most of the replies and I don't need to give you any more information except this. It has been 12 years since my DX and I expect to get another 12 years. I'll be 70 on the 19th of July. I was DX at the age of 58. My father and my brother both...

Re: chemo brain

It's been since the summer of 2003 that I had my last chemo. In 2003 I was 59, I'm 70 now and I blame every thing on "chemo brain."

Re: Hello from Arizona Newbie and Questions

My brother shocked me by saying that he would never have chemo. We had a brother that died of cancer and told him to "never have chemo. It's horrible." Well I was stunned........it took my breath away. I still remember that feeling of bring told not to get chemo treatments that I was think...

Re: Eight Years Ago Today

Not too many years after my dx I had a high school friend call me and she kept saying "you poor dear" I found it strange that she said it because I was well on my way to victory and I had told her that I was well and had been for a few years at that time. I told her that cancer gave me mor...

Re: Calling time on your reversal

I had my reversal in Mar of 2004. Twelve years ago and of course every ones experience will be different. I've said many times if I ever had to have an ostomy again I would in a heart beat. It is not the end of the world. For many it is the answer they have looked for but dreaded because some doctor...

Re: 6 Years & Kicking - Hope for Many of You

12 Years............ Back in October of "02 I was bleeding so bad from the rectum that I thought I was going to bleed out before I could get to the ER. That was twelve years ago and I'm still here. I've seen my son get married to a wonderful woman. She is as pretty on the outside and she is on ...

Re: question for all survivors

This is a tear jerker for me. I have a friend and we date back to the ninth grade. We continued to be friends for a few years after graduation but our lives took different directions until the summer or 2002. That was when she found me again. I knew I had cancer but hadn't yet been to the doctor. I ...

Re: Having a BM with an ileostomy??

My surgeon before the reversal asked if I had had a BM. My answer was yes and he said it was normal and assured me that everything was working as it should so the reversal surgery was scheduled.
