Re: Rectal Radiation- How long does this pain last?

Thank you for your message. I'm doing radiation post surgery so I currently have an illiostomy which helps to avoid the diarrhea thank god! But I can honestly say I've never had such a "pain in the butt!" It hurts so darn bad and my surrounding hips, leg muscles, flutes are also very fatig...

Rectal Radiation- How long does this pain last?

I'm on radiation treatment 26 of 28. My pain in rectum is so severe! It fills like inflamation along with pressure and pain. I'm wondering how long this will last? My last treatments are Monday and Tuesday and then I'm done. If like to plan my holidays and need to go out of town but as far as how I'...

Re: 5-FU & Xeloda Extremely Allergic-

Karen, What did you end up doing? My oncologist is telling me thee is no back up chemo for rectal cancer, so I'm done with chemo. They had me restart my radiation today with no chemo. I'm surprised at this as well but they claim it will still reduse my chances of a reoccurance in my pelvis! Let me k...

Re: spread from colon to neck node?

I know this post is old but I'm curious as to what ended up happening? I just had my PET and two nodes in left neck lit up. Getting them surgically biopsied on Monday. I'm nervous they are a metasis, however no lung or liver involvement.
Thank you!

Re: Choosing not to do Adjuvent Radiation- Advice Appreciate

I had my second opinion and decided today that Yes, I'm going to continue with Radiation. I'm starting on Tuesday. They found two nodes in my left neck that lit up with my PET scan so those are coming out to be biopsied on Monday. Has anyone heard of a malignancy to the neck missing liver lung etc? ...

Re: Choosing not to do Adjuvent Radiation- Advice Appreciate

Yes, so sorry. Auto correct on phone- geez! Yes they found a new nodule at previous surgery site. Thus the reason for not being able to get a enema to work, the nodule was blocking it. I see surgeon tumor. I can't find any info on a reoccurance happening so soon so I'm praying that this new growth i...

Re: Choosing not to do Adjuvent Radiation- Advice Appreciate

Thank you so much for sharing! Yes I tried talking to my oncologist radiologist but every question I asked I felt was answered with a " I don't have a answer for that" it frustrates me and doesn't give me the security I need in my dr! My biggest thing is exactly like you said it only preve...
