Re: Neoadjuvant ChemoRad Advice

Great news that you're through that fun! Gotta love the razor blade shits. One thing I might add, if you haven't been stretching, do it now. The radiation killed my gluts and all the surrounding muscles, I should have been stretching, but I didn't know. You might get on top of that and see a physica...

Re: Pelvic floor (ass) pain

Kristi - so sorry you are having so much pain. I have nothing to offer, but to say I'm sorry and I know what it's like living with pain, although I think mine is less than yours and not the same. As a side note, I really want to say thank you to Karen for bringing up EXACTLY what I'm feeling every d...

Re: Peripheral neuropathy question

Mine crept in and got worse after I was done - probably spiked about 2 months after I was finished. At the worst point, I was falling. I take Gabapentin and it works wonders for me. I don't notice any side effects (I initially thought it made me hungry/gain weight - but I'm pretty sure that's post-m...

Re: Hemorrhoids Anyone?

Omg yes. And radiation blew them up big time. The best thing for pain and burning for me is Calmoseptine. For itching I have a lidocaine/hydrocortizone cream.

Re: Drugs to control LARS - HELP!!

I didn't have the temp ileo, so I'm not sure that my situation was the same, but I can tell you the first year sucked after the resection sucked. I have pretty damn good bowel quality now and Metamucil saved my life. Here are some things that helped me: Metamucil - enormous, overflowing teaspoon, pl...

Re: anyone every use suprep

I've done suprep twice and I thought it was pretty easy and not foul tasting. It tastes like cherry cough syrup, but it's not much and I could just chug it in one sitting. Then I had a spoonful of lemon sorbet just to get that cherry taste out of my mouth. It works really fast for me. I know others ...

Re: New member first post

Welcome 4pack - I don't think I have much to add as others have already said it. The waiting is the worst. Don't be afraid to ask for something to help you cope like Xanax or Ativan. I know you'll find a lot of support here. Hi all. I recently found out that I'm a member of the club as well. Went to...

Re: I'm sure this is insensitive but...

Most likely it's not colon cancer, but if you have blood in your stool - you need a colonoscopy. Find a way to get one. Don't concern yourself with Dr. Googling symptoms, many of us on here have posted symptoms we experienced and they range so widely from no symptoms to tons of symptoms. Get it chec...

Re: Scared of chemo

I know this is so scary. We've all been in your shoes. I won't lie, chemo sucks, but you can do it. People handle the cocktail in different ways. If you work, I'd ask about doing Xelox, which is a pill instead of the pump, with Xelox you take a pill and have an infusion, then you continue the pills ...

Re: Newly diagnosed and scared stiff

You're feelings are like so many of us felt when that first diagnosis hits. It's probably the hardest and scariest part of the journey you are going to be on. But personally, I think you need to let your guard down, at least to your husband, don't keep it bottled up, that won't help. You don't need ...

Re: Neuropathy

A prescription for Gabapentin (Neurontin) & Norco. While it probably sounds like I'm kidding, I'm not. Anything else might be nice, but they don't really do anything for neuropothy. When you have neuropothy, it can be very frustrating, you can having tingling, numbness, pain and more. My feet hu...

Re: Newly Diagnosed. Nervous about Chemo

As others have said everyone's experience is different, some tolerate it better than others. Here are some of my thoughts. I had rectal so Xeloda with radiation first, then after surgery was supposed to be 6 rounds of Xelox. I did 5, last one Xeloda only. ⋅ IV Infusion in Vein - I did it, ...

Re: Guilt over not being super woman right now

LaciK, You're definitely not alone with your feelings. I am a very strong person, always been super focused on my career. I'm the one in the family that makes the bulk of the money (I also spend the bulk of the money). I'm an Executive at a Bank at a small, extra small bank. One location, 24 or so e...

I don't think Kenny was silenced, as He stated he had never been reprimanded. People of all faiths, and thoughts are tolerated by the forum, at least as far as I have observed. Kenny, chose to stop posting, as some of his views were different than others. A wise person is that, who will silence him...
