Re: Chemoversary - 1 year.

Congratulations!! Mine is Sept. 3rd and it almost seems surreal. 1 year and as you said somedays it seems like yesterday. All I know is that I thank God for each and every day that I remain out of chemo.

Re: off topic. How does you garden grow?

Last year, while in chemo I grew one tomato in one of those topsy turvy things, it was all I could muster strength for after many years of gardens. This year I bought a cattle trough and had room for squash, tomatoes, two kinds of basil and green peppers. I made a decision that I would stay out of c...

Re: Minnesota-Wisconsin and anywhere else get together

Wow, I am going to miss BBQ by only a couple of weeks, I have decided to go back to Minnesota (home state) for Oktober Fest in New Ulm. I decided while I am NED I would go "home" for a visit.
Hello to all in the midwest.

Don't ask, don't tell

I went to see my onc yesterday and while I was there went back to visit the "chemo group" many of whom were in chemo while I was. I was feeling nosey (blame it on this forum) and asked if others had done research on meds etc and did they want to know more. Resoundingly by a vote of 6 to 2 ...

Re: Avastin and proteinuria

Thank you all for your input. I am on Lisonopril for hbp(went up during chemo) and I am not bashing Avastin. My aortic met disappeared, I believe from the Avastin. Perhaps all I am saying is that it is too bad that we (me) had to research something that my onc. could have told me or at least not poo...

Avastin and proteinuria

I have been out of Folfox with Avastin for 11 months, my last three lab tests have come back with proteinuria which I believe is precursor to Chronic Kidney Disease. Does anyone know if this is a side effect of Avastin? I did notice in Avastin literature to report "foamy" urine, which I di...

Re: "Letting Go", by Atul Gawande

I felt that the article was incredibly thought provoking. I know what I want in my "end" time, but even at 66 yoa my family doesn't want to hear about it. I can only hope to convince them as time goes by or in the end make sure I have signed all the documents to assure me that I have my sa...

A Chance to Pray

First let me say that I have always been one of those "Know it all agnostics," I knew I believed in something but did not pray or meditate or anything else. Since coming to this forum I pray every day. I pray for everyone on this forum and strangely enough it gives me great peace of mind. ...

mosquitoes

Thought I would bring up something about chemo that has turned out to be a "good" side effect. Mosquitoes have stopped biting me. I used to be their favorite meal, as others around me were being overlooked they seemed to see me as meat and potatoes. This last year since finishing chemo, th...

Re: Almost a year from end of chemo and still tired?

Hi, I don't know how old your mom is, but I am 66 and will(fingers crossed)have my year anniversary out of chemo on Sept. 3rd. I still feel tired after a year, still deal with neuropathy and muscle weakness. No, I can't do what I did prediagnosis and chemo but I feel MUCH better than in chemo. I was...

Re: I lost :)

Oh thank you for making my day. I have tried so many times to ascertain if it going to be gas or crap that I can't even remember. I have tried to figure by feeling, feels heavy must be poop or feels light must be gas, unfortunately after losing so many times I no longer put my trust in my limited kn...

Re: Maintenance Chemo?

Ashlee, My onc has given me until August 4th to make a decision about maintenance chemo. After much soul searching and 3 clean scans I have decided to put off chemo until something "lights up," onc told me it was a quality of life decision. I like my quality of life right now and had miser...
