Re: The Gift of Cancer

Okay, not all of it pertains to me---I have no conscious sisterhood with the women of the Congo, but I do have a spiritual/physical connection with the children suffering with cancer. Many times when I thought I could not take anymore pain, bad news, crummy tests I thought about the children battlin...

Re: Team CRguy...requesting backup....O/T

C.R. guy,
My motto is rant first then take a deep breath or two. It usually works.
Thank you so much for sharing, it gives me validation for my rants.

Re: Avastin allergy

The article doesn't mention proteinuria (first noticed as foamy urine) I have had it since chemo with Avastin one year ago. Also I had a hypertensive crisis where my b/p went to 205/100, it only lasted about 2 hours but it scared the crap :D out of me. My b/p remains elevated but I know if I had to ...

Re: Too much Fish Oil (not good)

It seems to me that every time I get on a NEW regime regarding vitamins, tumeric, fish oil etc. some study comes along to refute the findings. Perhaps it comes down to everything in moderation. All I know is that it makes it confusing to try to take out the BEAST.

Always sorry that you need this forum, but there are no kinder people and no people more knowledgable than on THIS forum. It literally has saved my life. It took me a year of lurking before I signed on, so tell your sister that we are ready to help when she is ready.

going on vacation

Good morning, I am going on vacation for the first time since hemi-colectomy, chemo etc. in 09. I need advice, I fear going far from home and my comfort zone where I am near my docs, friends and most importantly my own bathroom. I am a creature of habit and have oatmeal EVERY morning for fiber, drin...

Re: Avastin - General Thoughts / Experiences ?

Hi, Iam 66 yo and have been off Avastin x12 months. I have proteinuria and hypertension, fairly common side effects. I am stage four and credit Avastin for saving my life, having had aortic met which disappeared shortly after adding Avastin to chemo. I do not like dealing with side effects but it is...

Re: Where's Gaelen

I need to get my two cents worth in here. I learned so much from Gaelen. Things I use to get better care from my onc and my primary. I too miss you Gaelen and if you are just stopping by to see what is happening, please come back. It is all about knowledge and you were a great purveyor of big C know...

Re: Should I be concerned about not gaining weight?

I ate like a pig :D for the first six months out of chemo and after that I suddenly was back to gaining weight. I had lost a lot of weight pre-diagnosis and in chemo. Now my metabolism has slowed to what it was before I was aware of my cancer. Talk to your doc but don't be overly concerned---and bew...

Thank You

I wanted to say thank you to "hopeful"for directing me to "Light a candle for John." I went to the site grateful.org and once again was pointed to how to be grateful each day. I know that I get caught up in my disease and then start to worry about everything, what about my next s...
