Re: CEA jump from 2.8 to 33 in 6 weeks -- what to make?

You haven’t had surgery to resect the liver tumors yet? If you’re not out of the woods yet then it’s the main reason your CEA is rising. You need to get to resection.

Re: How crucial is the HAI pump?

The HAI protocol is a combination of chemo directly injected into the pump which then goes straight to your liver and systemic chemotherapy delivered by traditional methods, usually a port in your chest. Re: How crucial is the HAI pump?

The pump has been shown to be very effective at shrinking liver tumors and allow patients to get to resection and also to keep tumors from coming back after liver resection. I strongly suggest, if you haven’t already, to make an appointment at MSKCC, you need the best people taking care of you.

But it seems that there very high false-positives with some of us, almost up to 50%, and in some people 15 is the high normal, not 5! Of course it’s still important to keep an eye ...

Reminder: Don't forget your Vitamin D!

All the latest studies point to pretty good proof that Vit D is important and helps keep the beast at bay: https://www.yalemedicine.org/stories/vitamin-d-colorectal-cancer/ "A group of 139 patients with metastatic colorectal cancer were prescribed standard chemotherapy and vitamin D supplements...

Re: Opinions on alternative treatments?

I find the outright dismissals of non-standard cancer interventions disappointing. She’s obviously under the care of a properly trained and licensed professional and it’s just asking for some advice on some alternatives. And what is this nonsense about “western medicine”?? Ancient Chinese and indige...
