Re: Asking questions before diagnosis?

When people have unexplained anemia, colon cancer is sometimes suspected. However, your husband has had severe rectal bleeding. That could be the cause. When I had a CT scan, the tumor in my colon showed up. Your husband has a lot of symptoms, related and unrelated to colorectal cancer. I had no sym...

Re: Prepopik - colonoscopy prep

I have had quite a few colonoscopies over the last eight years and the prep gets harder for me to tolerate. Just thinking about it now makes me shudder :) I get so nauseous that it is almost impossible to keep it down and even drink it in the first place. I feel so sick that I'm unable to drink othe...

Re: PREP GETS HARDER TO TOLERATE

Thanks to everyone for your replies. I will definitely be looking at a different prep next time. My GI said that I could take tablets next time but still need to drink plenty of fluids. Might be easier though as I can't stand the taste of picoprep - just the thought of it makes me shudder :) I haven...

Re: PREP GETS HARDER TO TOLERATE

I had 4 sachets (4 glasses) of picoprep and one litre of colonlytely to drink - ugh so ghastly. I tried to make it less by making it more concentrated. Only managed half a glass and most of the litre. I think drinking on an empty stomach doesn't help. Now I think I hate anything lemon flavored haha....

Oh no, your poor mom. Sounds like she is being well looked after and is well supported. That is always a good thing. Wishing her a speedy and uneventful recovery.

PREP GETS HARDER TO TOLERATE

I have had seven colonoscopies and each time the prep, although the same, gets worse and harder for me to tolerate. Anyone else have this problem? In fact, I struggled so much this time with nausea that I brought up quite a lot of the prep and couldn't get the last bit down. I was unable to drink an...

Re: My ONC released me

What an awful thing that your personal physician said to you...I can't believe how they would say such a thing when it was unjustified. Anyway, I'm glad that you're still here and doing well :) Best wishes to you.

Re: Today is my last day of Chemo!

Be positive and listen to your oncologist...you have a great prognosis. I was stage III and had annual scans because my oncologist/surgeon was concerned about the radiation causing cancer with three monthly bloods.

When I was on chemo, I saw my oncologist before each treatment. He went over my bloods and asked about side affects etc.

I'm so sorry that you have to go through this added anxiety. I'm hoping and praying that the cause of the increased CEA is nothing sinister. I know that it has had me worried on many occasions. Best wishes for your mom's scan xx
