My latest CT

Well, I had another CT last week. My May CT had demonstrated increase in size of mets in my right lung, with everything else being stable. My most recent scan again shows a very significant growth of mets in my right lung. There are three of them, now measuring 4 to 5 cm. My left lung is clean, with...

Re: Will there ever be a cure for cancer!!

Some will think the question naive, but it is a good question, and it isn't asked often enough. I do believe that there will be a cure for cancer, and for all I know it is already there, somewhere - probably a lonely researcher in Sweden, Finland, or Japan, on a $30,000 salary, doing something with ...

Re: You Canucks watching hockey?

I appeal to the moderators to close this incomprehensible thread. These "sports" are of unknown to most of the world. I have no idea if the "bruins" (what are those anyway?) will win something called the "NBA", or why they would name a baseball trophy after an Africa ex...

Thanks Lauretta for this. I've read his books, highly recommended, and an exceptional individual. How are you?

Very exciting news. I am so glad that the immune approach is finally resonating with mainstream institutions. Dentritic cells are the coolest!

Had to laugh CRguy, and accidentally let out a "foul and pestilent congregation of vapour".

Re: New cancer blog

Good thoughtful writing. Don't shy away from exploring the darker sides of this disease. I know we are all meant to be brave, battling, positive and so on, but it is not like that - how could it. Face this disease in all its aspects - sunlight and shadow. I tried to follow you on Tumblr - had to sig...

I think this doc has a bad case of "cancer envy".

Re: “This Is My Last Day on Earth”

Laurettas, I am confused. I was not aware that you yourself had cancer. I think many of us here are confused.

But if this is true, I wish you well, wherever you may be headed. I am sorry to lose a friend.

Peace without illusions.....

Re: What was colon cancer screening like in the 1950s?

I remember in the 1980's observing colonoscopies during a surgical rotation. The scope was the size, literally, of a garden hose, very uncomfortable for the patient, requiring great skill to get past the various flexures and taking a long time to perform. It was the memory of this procedure that pro...

Latest CT Scan

I just got my results today. A bit of a mixed bag. The lesions in my right lung have increased in size, the largest one now measuring 3.5 cm. But the left lung is almost clear, with only one 9 mm area remaining. Only one tiny node remains in my chest, one cm. The abdominal retroperitoneal nodes are ...

Re: Palliative Care Misunderstandings

A good topic and thanks for raising it. I appreciate all the comments, even those I do not agree with. My take is different. I do not buy the "cancer is incurable" line. I regard it as nothing more than an alibi for the industry to explain its dismal failure. I believe cancer can be cured,...
