Re: blockage please help

Sorry to hear this. Your signature says you just had a clean scan, so the obstruction is not cancer related I assume. In which case it is most likely a small bowel obstruction, secondary to scarring. In all likelihood they will want to treat conservatively, with an NG tube on continuous suction and ...

Re: Spontaneous Regression

Is there any benefit to the Coley's treatment when NED? Also, how small can the met be for SBRT? I asked my surgeon here in Toronto about it and he said mine were too small...all under 1 cm some were at the time only a few mm. cb If I get to be "NED" (we can dream, no?) I would continue m...

Re: Spontaneous Regression

Thanks all for your comments. It hasn't really been that bad, I am not normally prone to depression, and as the sun is coming out, it has largely lifted. Yes Maia, I do think the Coley's has kept me alive, and I think it will continue to do so. It is not a miracle cure, but in judicious combination ...

Re: Spontaneous Regression

this is a shameless attempt to lure lohidoc out of the (frozen) Canadian bushes. Yes Maia, there is no excuse for this. I shall have to write to your husband and ask him to control your internet activities. For those of you who are interested: It has been a tough winter here in Northern Ontario, wha...

Re: Question for those who have had radiation to chest/lungs

I had external beam radiation to my upper right lung in September. A deposit was close to a major airway and causing a cough and some shortness of breath. !2 courses of high dose Rx, really nothing to it except fatigue halfway through. Felt much improved afterwards. Now: Still have a cough, well con...

I have in the past mocked your poetic talent CRGuy. I now sincerely and shamefacedly withdraw that comment.
Very moving. I'm sorry about your dad.

Re: an answer to single CRCer's problems!

You're thinking along the same lines as I have been Skypup. I was going to start a dating site for people with cancer but never got around to it. You wanna work with me on this? Also, I was going to start a dating site for the afterlife (for our religious friends) as an off shoot of the cancer site....

Some oncologist groups have monthly meetings to determine strategies to maximize profits. This might be something they came up with.

Re: For those following Steve's story

Terrible news, and tough times ahead for both of you. How is Steve with all this, does he talk at all, has he discussed the implications of these findings? Anyway, my best thoughts to you both.

Encouraging news Cheese. And about being 15, with pimples - it could be worse. At least it is not premature ejaculation (I'm assuming).

Re: Mets in abdomen - SRC

Hello Jacekica, I am so sorry to hear of this development. Being alone makes it so much harder, and I completely understand your feelings about your dog. You write that the lymph node masses are pressing on the kidney, and are beginning to cause an obstruction. Is it just the one kidney or both? I h...

Re: STOP ASKING !!!

Ha! This summer my son was trying out for a soccer team. The coach, whom I knew slightly and have never liked, proceeded to ask me how I was doing, and from there went on to ask some very detailed questions. Halfway into this extraordinary conversation I realized he was trying to figure out how much...

Re: My latest CT

Thanks to my cheering section for all those comments. I am only moderately optimistic, in that I had hoped my Rx would be enough by itself. I have never claimed that this Rx was a cure for cancer, or even my own cancer, but I secretly hoped it would be. So I do feel a sense of disappointment. Also, ...
