Don't tell me...

After a few weeks of random unexplained pains, symptoms and now having tests done to rule out spinal and brain mets I can't handle hearing these phrases anymore. They come from very close family members that's are my usual source of support in these times but I feel like they have suddenly buried th...

Re: tests, tests and more tests...Triple the scanxiety

Thank you all, something I forgot to mention... When the PT doc was checking my reflexes he said they were very sensitive and jumpy, which "can be a sign of spinal cord involvement " . I wasn't sure if that meant a tumor was pressing on my spinal cord or if that meant a brain tumor...

tests, tests and more tests...Triple the scanxiety

I went in yesterday to sign all the paperwork to get started on a clinical trial. Had my bloodwork done and it passed the trial guidelines. So we are moving on to the rest of the screening process, and if all goes well I will start the chemo on Monday. Which is awesome, I have been off chemo for WAY...

I starred losing in the last week of tx, but I lost most of it in the 2-3 wks afterwards. A perfectly round bald spot, and grew back thicker than before  yay

LOL, I need one for my house, we only have one bathroom  . Seriously that would be great for camping though, better than squating.

Re: Refuses Chemo, What next?

I am sorry you have to stand by and watch a loved one go through this. With his age and stage of disease, Quality of life needs to be considered. Although some may say chemo is not that bad "like the movies", but to be honest I have had some really rough chemo txs that made me second guess...

Re: Sad, angry, tired...

Why on earth would they tell you that much info and them make you wait for the full report? That is ridiculous! If it were me I would insist on seeing the doc or at least talking over the phone. Or at least get a copy of that report. If I have a scan while my Onc is on vacation one of his associates...

Re: Trip to the ER for Constipation??? How Embarrassing!

I am also a huge fan of Miralax, even though I don't have on ostomy. One of the reasons I love it is that since it is in a powder form you can adjust the dosage. When I was first dxd I had uncontrolable diahrea, but when I started tx I would get constipated. If I took a full dose I would overcorrect...

Re: OT: Wedding Day

What a beautiful day for your family. I am so happy for all of you, it had to mean so much to your daughter (the bride) to share that day with her sister. I can't imagine my wedding day without my sister. It is also great to hear that Lauren is doing so well, I remember when you first reported her r...

Re: New doctor and questions about change of plans

I don't know much about the guidelines, but if you are not comfortable with it get second opinion. You don't want to have any regrets down the road. Make sure you are comfortable with what ever follow up plan you end up with.

Re: Mysterious bump and the usual "is that cancer" dilemma

Ya, I guess I would rather it was a lymph node rather than a bone met. Not sure why, or if it would be better that way. Either way its getting too close to my brain for me. If this headache gets any worse I will call my Onc this weekend, otherwise I will be calling first thing Monday morning. I shou...

Mysterious bump and the usual "is that cancer" dilemma

So sometime last week I noticed a bump behind my left ear, it is a very hard lump and at first only hurt when I pressed on it. The only reason I noticed it was because I tried to lay on my left side and noticed some pain behind my left ear. At first I thought it was just a pimple and didn't think mu...
