Re: Lots of issues covered - Update on Pete

Thanks Cheese, my English is not always as I want it to be! I forget sometimes you are the only one that will understand one of my Afrikaans words like "epiteel" cells. Thanks for that. Hope you are still okay, or fairly okay yourself?

Hugs from us

Lots of issues covered - Update on Pete

Hi to all you Colon Clubbers, This has been our week of dr's app's. On Monday we went to take a x-ray of Pete's right shoulder, as he has pain again in the shoulder. (Had 2 times radiation on the shoulder for pain before). But, he fell, and he hurt his shoulder when he fell. And we didn't know if it...

Re: Xeloda users and hand/foot suffering (Celebrex relief)

Dear Graigj, We have been to see the onc today with results of bloodwork etc. He knows about the Celebrex, and he did give it to Peter. I asked him, and he immediately said YES! Thanks for this! We will start in a week with the next cycle (8) of Xeloda. You see, we can all still learn from others on...

Re: Need Help...Is It Just Time To Ax Irinotecan

Thanks Rix, We see the Onc tomorrow. Will see what he says, because I can sense that Peter needs blood again. He had 4 units 8 week ago. But he is very tired! In think our onc is giving up on him. Last time he said we are treating the family now, not the patient anymore. Thanks for your info! I real...

Re: CONTRAST AGENT CAT SCAN SIDE EFFECT

Liz, you are not a lone! Peter is very allergic to iodine now. I even buy iodene free salt at the chemist. The moment he gets iodene in (popcorn with salt at the movies- we forgot about the iodene), he starts coughing. When we use certain packets for sauces to prepare food, he coughs. When he is cou...

Re: Need Help...Is It Just Time To Ax Irinotecan

Hi Rix,
What drug are you talking about regarding increasing the blood cells? And if you know the name, perhaps also if there is a generic? Thanks so much! Pete also needs bloodcels at this stage, and I think he is going to get 3 or 4 units of blood again this week.

Thanks

Re: Chemo/radiation Question

Hi, You will see in my signature we come a long time with this CRC. Pete (mine) also had it very low, and the surgeon said if he does not cut a clean margin, it won't help, and will only come back in plus minus 2 years time. So, he cut it out, and my Peter was NED for 2,5 years after that. Then only...

Re: Wish me luck!

Dear Tammy, I also wish you luck with the scan you had today. Prayers, and swinging chickens from our side. Pete had such a lot of scans in 8,5 years, and he also had the hives. Then the premeds before the scan, and then he even start swelling like a bullfrog after a CT even if he had the premeds. T...

Re: cancer back have a pelvic tumour

Hi Jo, Sorry to hear this. One of the English Professors of our Durban University had a 10 cm tumor in her pelvis. And then another MD Professor took out that tumor. She was clean after that for a long time. I suppose it does depends on the arteries etc. Hope Xeloda works. It works for my hubby curr...
