Ditto, bz45. Bev, you have a lot of people pulling for you. I hope everything goes well. Hate the prep.

Re: Relay For Life - Seattle-Tacoma Area

For sure it has changed a lot. My parents moved away while I was at college, but I make it back every few years to see family and friends. It looks different each time.

I grew up near Illahee Junior High. Did you go to FWHS? I had friends in HS from Marine HIlls.

Re: Relay For Life - Seattle-Tacoma Area

I would love to do this next summer when I am finished with treatment. I grew up in Federal Way and am always looking for another excuse to visit. Good luck! Sounds like a lot of fun!

Re: Surgery EVE---APR tomorrow

Good luck tomorrow. I felt the same way. It is strange to go through treatment, get to the point of feeling great and then go in and have a massively invasive surgery where a part of you will be removed, never to return the same way again. Feels like making a sacrifice or an investment in the future...

Re: Surgery in a Few Hours

I got great news yesterday from my surgeon. Lab results came back and they couldn't find any evidence of cancer. Looks like a complete response! That tumor started out at 5 cm with ~3 lymph nodes involved. Pretty amazing. I am happy feeling cancer-free.

Re: Surgery in a Few Hours

I am enjoying being home. Thanks for the advice on the ostomy. That really is the main thing that I haven't gotten used to. I had the home care nurse come in to walk me through the wafer change last Thursday. I wanted to do it myself as much as possible, so I was standing in front of the mirror to s...

I came across this today and I think the author should get a Pulitzer. It was amazingly written.

This is great to hear! I have a family reunion camping trip planned at Bryce Canyon after my round 4 Folfox. I hope I handle it as well as you! What are your best days in the cycle, all you who did Folfox?

Re: Last chemo tx is today!!!

That is fabulous news. It gives me courage as I enter the tunnel you are just leaving.

Two questions: Why did they scan you before you finished treatment insteadof right after?

Why didn't you do a full 12 oxi?

Thanks.

Re: Surgery in a Few Hours

My doctor let me choose if I wanted to go home yesterday or today, so I will be going home this morning (Day 6). Apparently, I have been healing so rapidly, physically, moving around so normally that the nurses have been saying for the last few days how I should probably be home. Kinda makes me feel...

Re: Surgery in a Few Hours

Yes, they told me that I need to get up out of bed four times today. I feel pretty comfy as long as I don't have to sit up, cough, walk, etc. Sweet drinks made me feel nauseated more than the the savory broth. I got pretty itchy from the morphine so they gave me some benadryl, after which the morphi...
