Re: DCVax-Direct: First Case Study Announced

Is it really possible to inject the vaccine into lung tumors? It feels so dangerous to me.

Re: My Scotty Boy has flown away ....

DeAnn,

What a beautiful story, and truly, eloquent writing. Thank you for sharing both the story of your love for each other, as well as the small miracles that helped you these last terrible days.
May light perpetual shine upon Scott.

Cancerislame (Jennifer),

How blessed you are that you have been special enough to Candy that she wanted to tell you "goodbye." And I'm sure you have been a blessing in her life, also.
Lifting Candy, her family, and all of us dealing with this disease in prayer,

Re: mCRC STAGE IV OR RECURRENT PATIENTS thread - ONGOING

Gwen- I'm in shock with your news. The PD-L1 trial that I was on from 2012-to early this year didn't stop my disease, but it did buy me more time off chemo. With four drug companies rushing to get drugs moving in that area, is there no trial available near you? It broke my heart in the early days of...

Re: mCRC STAGE IV OR RECURRENT PATIENTS thread - ONGOING

Reporting back in this evening. Just got back from a trip to Greenville, SC, where I signed the consent forms for the BBI-503 trial. http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01781455?term=BBI503&rank=1 My special thanks to Maia for pointing out this trial. (People from North Carolina don't always e...

Re: CEA creeping up

Still dealing with inflammation from radiation to left lung in Feb-March. CEA got up to 15, but was heading back down on the last two checks. I had no idea how much damage radiation could do to me. Didn't have much of a choice, since the largest nodule had caused some pneumonia. Two months later, st...

Re: newly diagnosed returning with questions

Michelle, My colon resection was higher than yours sounds like it will be, but I remember the recovery time as being less than my C-section. The best advice towards recovery is walking. If you have lightweight robe to take to the hospital, it makes the hallway trip a lot easier. With 2 C-sections al...

Re: Those on pain meds...

Talk about being dumb. This morning I wrote that I absolutely have to take the oxycontin every 12 hours; then I went and missed a dose. I was visiting a friend (only 2nd time I've been able to do that all year) and trying to figure out why I was hurting so badly. It was 2:30 p.m. when I figured out ...

Re: Those on pain meds...

Skypup, I've been taking 10 mg of oxycontin twice a day for the last month or so. The radiation oncologist wrote the Rx when I was having treatments. For the last week, I've also needed hydrocodone (10/325) at least once a day for break-through pain. I was waking up in the middle of the night in tea...

Re: mCRC STAGE IV OR RECURRENT PATIENTS thread - ONGOING

Jeanette, When I had oxaliplatin every 2 weeks, the cold sensitivity in my mouth did not last a full week each time. On week 2, I was able to drink my normal cold drinks. The cold sensitivity in my hands and feet, however, took a long time to leave, and wasn't gone completely until after I was off o...
