Re: Any prepping and scoping buddies out there ?

I am supposed to have a flex sig on Wednesday to see if the chemo is shrinking my tumor, but they haven't called to tell me that I have to prep in any way. I'm pretty sure that based on how I am feeling that the tumor is indeed shrinking. Fingers crossed.

m3814 clinical trial

Anybody heard of this trial? m3814 is a DNA-PK inhibitor that is supposed to make sure that cancer cells stay completely destroyed and don't repair their own DNA. It's a Phase 1B study to find out the highest dose that can be given along with chemoradiation. My radiation oncologist was very excited ...

Re: Questions regarding Folfox treatments

So, I had my appointment for round 4 yesterday. I reported all of my side-effects, but the nurse didn't seem to think they rose to a level to be concerned about, but they did contact my onc to discuss and the one concern was my very low ANC, so I have to go back tomorrow for neulasta. I plan on taki...

Re: My 2157 day journey ended today

Congratulations! I've read your blog a couple of times as I have just started my treatment journey - halfway done with 8 rounds folfox! Your blog entries are really helpful, along with all of the great info here on Colon Talk. It's so good to know that feelings I am experiencing have been experience...

Re: Quick intro -- diagnosed Friday

Pyro is absolutely correct, which is why I packed so many items in my bag for my first treatment. Also, never hesitate to call the number for your doctor's office during business hours, or the on-call number after hours if you have ANY questions about anything of concern. I called several times when...

Re: Quick intro -- diagnosed Friday

Hi Zack, Glad you are getting used to your port. From what I remember, you are not doing Folfox - just an oxaliplatin infusion and then you take pills, right? Anyway, my first infusion went a lot more quickly than I thought it would, and I brought far too much stuff with me which I had to lug back a...

Re: Questions regarding Folfox treatments

Thanks, zephyr. I guess I should report every side effect, which I have been pretty good at documenting every day. I just don't know if finger tingling and hand spasms that last until about day 5 is considered worrisome or just a mild side effect. I read somewhere today that your experience with you...

Re: Questions regarding Folfox treatments

Thanks everyone! I will definitely keep my doc updated about my side effects. Sounds like it's better to do that instead of just sucking it up past the point when something can be done to prevent or minimize the long-term effects. I will definitely ramp up my protein intake. I mostly crave things li...

Questions regarding Folfox treatments

Hi, I have done some searching on the forum, but can't find answers to my specific questions, so sorry in advance if these have been answered before. First - when will I know if oxaliplatin needs to be cut down? I have had 3 infusions so far, and the last two were a bit tougher that the first, meani...

Re: Cancer households should not have to deal with lice

Totally not fun. My daughter got them when she was in theater camp where the kids shared wigs.
I believe you said you live in Chicago area - you might treat yourself to a service like this: https://www.hairfairies.com/chicago-lice-treatment/
