Re: Please help, input needed

I’m so sorry that you are going through this right now and it is very scary with all the unknowns—the best thing you can do now is find a major cancer center near you, find a board certified colorectal surgeon, and familiarize yourself with the TNM staging system they use to stage colorectal cancer....

Re: Freaking out of my mind...CEA climb and specks on lungs

Thank you all. Really trying to not dwell on it during the holidays and just pray it ends up being nothing but in the meantime not let it ruin the “now”. Easier said than done for sure but I’m trying.

Re: Sad news about Miss Molly/Karen

She was so helpful to me when my mom first got her ileostomy and had a bunch of problems. A very kind and caring lady.

Re: Freaking out of my mind...CEA climb and specks on lungs

Thanks for the prayers guys—I would have posted an update yesterday but was waiting for the report to be published to the portal. So here’s what the PET said: Left lower lobe pulmonary consolidation has essentially resolved, compatible with pneumonia. A left upper lobe part solid nodule is decreased...

Yes! My mom’s always vary among the three places she gets it drawn (regular doctor; chemo hospital; Mayo.

I think it’s the same for any bloodwork really.

My mom had her CEA tested before each chemo, a mid chemo scan and a post-chemo scan.

Mom’s PET is tomorrow. Please keep her in your thoughts/prayers that it gives us some answers, preferably good answers.

Re: PET CT Small Nodules

That’s a good question—I would call the care team and ask why the verbiage in the original CT mentions nothing but the verbiage in the recent CT seems to suggest that when another radiologist compared images he saw something to compare.

Re: PET CT Small Nodules

No expert here but I don’t think super small modules can light up on a PET...I think it’s gotta be like 1cm at least? On the report, does it say there was minimal growth and actually compare a previous scan to the current? What is the “impression” of that finding? Usually on the report if they are c...
