Re: Ct scans

Ugh, that sucks. I feel for you. The CT scan would be likely to pick up metastases to other organs, but from what I understand the colon is constantly moving, so it is essentially camera-shy on a CT scan. A colonoscopy is the only way to find out what's really going on in the colon. Many of us have ...

Re: Neuropathy improvement: individual experience

Update on my neuropathy: it's almost entirely gone from my fingers, after improving noticeably over the past few weeks. My feet are still quite tingly and weird, but are significantly less numb than they used to be. The soles of my feet still feel like I'm walking on a bed of electricity, but I also...

Re: Liver resection scheduled!!

Oooh. Thanks for posting it! I like it. I hope the scar isn't too disruptive, but if it is, I hope you find something else you want to do either with it or elsewhere on your body.

Re: Liver resection scheduled!!

That is great news!!! I'm so excited for you! Have you posted a photo of the tattoo that will be affected? If you are comfortable sharing it I would love to see the "before" photo!

You've got this! I'll be keeping you in my thoughts.

Re: Newbie trying to get up to speed...

Chemo or radiation to shrink tumors is generally only done when the tumor is close to sensitive areas that the surgeon does not want to risk getting into if at all possible. It's common with rectal cancer and when a met is too close to an artery or other important structure. It seems to be much less...

Re: 6 month CT scan clean

Saw a Nurse Practitioner today, and she put me on a Vancomycin taper to try to help get rid of the c diff. Apparently that's what's recommended on a first reoccurrence. If I don't get rid of it I'll likely have it periodically for the rest of my life. I'm so frustrated that I was advised that it pro...

6 month CT scan clean

Had my 6 month CT scan last week. Chest and abdominal CTs both came back clean. CEA was at 2.0. Next appointment is in 3 months for bloodwork. Next CT scan in 6-12 months. If I can just get rid of this c diff infection, I'll be happy. I just finished up my 2nd round of vancomycin after it came back....

Re: Newbie trying to get up to speed...

I also had never been in the hospital when my colon cancer was discovered at 48. I went home 2 days after surgery but might have gone home sooner than that if they'd gotten me a bed and gotten the catheter out sooner. (My surgery was 2 days after my colonoscopy and I was in the hospital the whole ti...

Re: Colon Cancer Stage 3 May2019 new member

I would have problems with twitching in my hands and feet and occasional difficulty using my hands during and a couple of days after folfox treatment, but then it would clear up. I also had the shooting electric feeling in my arms when I straightened them, once the neuropathy started to set in. I ne...

Re: Bucket List

Good luck getting an early screening; that would be the best! I'm sure it's nothing to you but I'm going to take a 3-day RWD rally driving class at Dirtfish this fall. I have driven a Prius for 12+ years, but I grew up with a dad who loved fast cars, and I want to learn how to drive on other kinds o...

For a friend: recommendation for a good lung cancer support forum/group?

I have a good friend who has gotten an early peek at her chest PET scan results, and it looks like significant lung cancer in both lungs. Her appointment to discuss the results isn't until Wednesday, so she's in a tough spot of knowing things look bad but not knowing yet exactly how bad. You all hav...
