Re: I bought baby wipes and apple juice yesterday...

Well, I didn't win a trip to Hawaii :x So now I'm preparing for tomorrow. Not that I need to, I have a nervous gut and get the runs any time I'm under stress. But the bonus is at least for this scope I'm at home, not hooked up to an IV pole having to share a bathroom with the other patients in the r...

Re: New symptom: swollen feet??

First of all, congratulations on being one step away from being finished chemo!!! That is such an accomplishment. I had the opposite reaction as you. For years now I have had very mild edema in my legs that drained every night, but during the 1 week in hospital on IV fluids while being diagnosed I h...

For anyone seeking encouragement, inspiration....

....please watch the linked video below. Last night, seeking my own inspiration and randomly searching pages here I discovered this thread: http://coloncancersupport.colonclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1507&p=9066&hilit=online#p9066 which led me to this video: https://youtu.be/OXpaNEWmFw8....

Re: Lymphedema

Lydia I am sorry to hear about your new challenges. What can help with lymphedema? Not knowing how severe it is (and more importantly not being a physician) I can only offer some general suggestions. Compression stockings may help, being sure to drink lots of water (assuming this won't cause problem...

Re: Adenocarcinoma and crohn's after surgery

..... I want clarification on few things: 1. Dose cancer completely out of her body after surgery? 2. Is it only life extending or cured or curable? 3. Do Crohn’s still be in her body after surgery? Or Does it come back after some time? 4. What she has to go through here after? 1) I don't think any...

Re: Strange new side effects with FOLFIRINOX

Kbelo I had the pulsing sensation in my feet after about round 7 or 8. To me it feels like when you're in an elevator that has just stopped and is making adjustments to level with the floor before the door opens. It took a while for me to realize it was related to sudden changes in my blood pressure...

I bought baby wipes and apple juice yesterday...

.... They aren't on my normal shopping list, but I also bought this: http://i65.tinypic.com/34o3i47.jpg and I have some questions. 1) Are there any restrictions on flying after a colonoscopy? Local radio station has a contest on right now - win tickets to see Guns n Roses in Hawaii December 8th - wh...

It's 35 degrees outside (that's F not C) so gardening has moved indoors. Well it actually moved indoors about six weeks ago. The eldest mobster decided he wanted to grow hot peppers this summer so he bought seeds on line from the Netherlands: Carolina Reapers and Ghost Peppers. https://pepperhead.co...

Re: In canada MSK not option

As far as I know Sunnybrook is the only centre in Canada that offers HAI and you have to be a resident of Ontario to enter the trial.

Trying, among others please read the posts from stu about her mom if you need inspiration.

Cheers,

Re: Colonoscopy prep question

I realize this is too late for the OP, but here's my situation. My colonoscopy is scheduled for the first week of December. I've been starting to feel a little antsy about it and I needed to know what day(s) to book off work so I just pulled out the prep sheet to see what the procedure and timing is...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

My cancer centre has much the same process for blood work, although I suspect the volume of patients in a day is much smaller than at DF. There are two technicians (I'm not sure of their actual title) who draw blood and it is always the same two no matter what day it is. Anyway they both are so good...
