I saw the weirdest thing today. This morning on the drive to work, stopped at a stop light a truck passed in front of me. One of those trucks with the tank behind the cab to hold the waste from pumping out septic tanks or portable toilets. The tank was painted pink and the truck cab had the pink bre...
Hi Darn Blonde. There is a topic in the forum called "Mop up chemo experiences" that is always current. Link for it is here: http://coloncancersupport.colonclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=59639. It will give you insight into what you might experience. I'm sure you've been told that each p...
I haven't really cooked eggplant since my university days. As I remember it you have to salt it and let it sit for say 30 minutes, then rinse and cook as per your recipe. The salt is supposed to take any bitter, or young fruit taste away. Those left on the vine longer have a different taste. Eggplan...
I am, and thank you for asking. I have my 12th and last scheduled infusion on the 31st and then a CT scan on August 8th to find out where I'm at. I must say the anxiety is building...
I won't be deported as I have a PICC line, so I'll have to come up with a different term for its removal.
Risto, thank you for sharing your story with us. I've read many of your posts. You did so much for your wife, there is nothing that you could have done better. You are truly an awesome husband. My deepest sympathies to you and your family.
Congratulations on the promotion! You are giving me hope that one day the same will happen to me. I have seen a few job postings that would bring my work closer to home, however I couldn't in all honesty even submit a CV knowing that right now 6-8 days out of 20 I am out of commission.
I have been struggling with neutrophil and platelet issues since completing infusion #2 at the end of January. Have had 3 two-week delays as a result. Prior to #8 I was prescribed Grastofil, which is a generic version of Neupogen. Cost is Cdn $150.00 per shot; 35 shots to completion of chemo; I can'...
First of all, yes, I realize this thread is 4 years old but I do have reasons for resurrecting it after finding it last night. 1) Last night I did 3 beer can chickens on the BBQ, one for each of the guys. I am not into meat so much. Never really was and more so now. We have 3 beer can roosts, someti...
I am so sorry to read your story. My oldest was 5 when my father died, and 11 and the youngest 5 when my mother died. They didn't need to hear details other than Grandad and Grandma were very sick and left us. I felt like an orphan (and still do years later) as I have no blood relatives in Canada ot...
Two comments. From the online ingredients listing for Bayer's 81mg aspirin there is no caffeine listed in the non medicinal ingredients. I'm surprised no one has mentioned reduced alcohol consumption since I've been led to believe that there is a correlation between alcohol usage and colon cancer ri...
Glad to hear that things are back to normal. I had no idea that steroids could affect glucose levels for so long, I thought maybe for some reason you had to take it daily during infusion.
