Re: CEA Levels

Chemo is awful in many ways. I noticed my irradiated skin got bad during it, must be awful for you.
Hold tight, you are almost through it. We are all praying for you.

Re: CEA Levels

Rikki, Glad to see your numbers are turning back down. I can't imagine the frustration of tackling this again. Heading into my reversal on Thursday. Wishing you good luck with final doses. S How is your reversal surgery and how are you doing? Home four days now. Early hours of morning are bad, 5 to...

Re: Reversals Any positives?

Thanks for keeping it positive. It’s strange so far day time nothing happens but after dinner and then is we hours, bam it’s toilet time. I no sooner pull up my drawers and have to pull them down again and sit. Just the beginning I know.

Re: Surviving radiation for rectal cancer

I dug out the Calmoseptine lotion I used during radiation. Hopefully using bidet with protect bum. Belly is tender, was yours? Lots for pollen in the air and sneezing is acutely uncomfortable. Need to have a friend come over and walk with me as I shouldn’t hold dogs leash, he tugs me up to end of st...

Re: Mop up chemo experiences

It is strange how much better daytime is then night. Maybe I relax, or horizontal position gets things moving because 7 trips to toilet in 4 hours. It feels like a lot comes out but just tiny bit. I am trying to be busy during day, avoiding pain pills they sent home with me, sticking with Tylenol. S...

Re: Surviving radiation for rectal cancer

Well, I am doing okay between 4 a.m. and 11 p.m. For some reason I spend all night running to toilet. In and out of bed, thought about bringing pillow and blanket in with me so I won’t have to climb into bed, worry I keep my husband up. Did wear a Depends to sleep to protect me from an accident, can...

Re: Mop up chemo experiences

It is so true, I am aware of every weird sensation down there. I am not sure about clustering. I do know that when I so it seems like a lot of work, effort and not much comes out. I get some pretty sharp pains down there, more uncomfortable then the old stoma site. My daughter described take down si...

Re: Reversals Any positives?

Home is great, just harder to get out of my bed than hospital bed so nighttime was challenging.
I appreciate the longer range reports.

Re: Dexamethasone

Chemo makes everything different. I could eat oatmeal, prosciutto, pickles. Sweets tasted awful. Try different foods, maybe something will be okay.

I have started with small, bloody stools. One yesterday three today. Literally walked it out. 6700 steps yesterday.
I get to leave today, waiting on discharge orders. Just gauze over wound. Got a shower.
How are you doing?

Re: Reversals Any positives?

Thank you JulieJ for your positive statements and information. I love yogurt, make it at home. I am going to pick up some imodium for just in case days. I enjoyed lots of foods going into reversal that I was afraid I would not be able to eat.good to know I will have some kind of normal eating again. S
