Re: I'm a mystery ... CEA rising, good scans

I have heard of this before from other survivors. Usually they know that CEA is a great marker for them so the blood work is picking up the circulating cancer cells. Same as you the scans are clean... but later down the road, the rise in CEA appears in a new tumor site. Usually their oncologist will...

Re: What's an acceptable delay for lymph node resection?

That's an acceptable amount of time ... I had the same recurrence in 2015 and successful surgery. There is a normal wait time between surgery and chemo and 2 to 3 weeks is not too long. My lymph nodes grew slow so it had been there for a while before it was even seen on a ct scan. Best of luck Chrissy

Re: Female Pains AFTER radiation, No Doc will Listen...

Have you seen a urologist? It is possible that your bladder and or pelvis has been damaged by the radiation. Seek a specialist in these type of complications. Ask your radiologist for a referral too.

Re: New on site, Husband of 33 year old Fighter

If you are considering Dr Staley at Emory Winship in Atlanta, then I highly recommend his skills and medical team. I have not had HIPEC but my last 2 surgeries and one more coming up in late November or December.

MD Anderson is great too.

Re: Proton Therapy for Liver Metastasis from Stage 4 Colon Cancer

What would be the process I should do in order to be referred from Emory in Atlanta to MD Anderson for proton therapy? Emory Winship will not have their new machine in operation until late 2018. I have been dx with another recurrence to my para aortic verge involves 50% of the iliac artery again. Al...

CRguy, Perhaps we are not meant to let go. When someone we love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. It is our responsibility to hold on to their spirit and thoughts. It is our duty to allow their essence and beauty into our own journey! I completely agree with Judy. It is of utmost imp...

Re: Prepopik - colonoscopy prep

I have used Prepopik 2 to 3 times and it works great and you won't get sick or crampy ... at least I didn't and I won't use anything else.

It is really important to start the week before with miralax in your coffee or tea and low residue diet. Makes it much easier.

I highly recommend Colontown on FB ... join the group for the Clinic and trial finding ... I could not agree with you more about how doctors give cancer dx and not the whole down and dirty and then lift you up with the possibles and outcomes. I was very lucky on my recurrence in August 2015 to Stage...
