Re: Newly diagnosed stage 4 colon cancer at 42. Looking for hope and inspiration.

I have to add here. I am the person who was panicked in Sept 2017 at stage 3c and wrote the “Positivity needed” post. I later had a liver met and had a resection. I am currently NED. I have read it all. And one thing that’s helped me is knowing that these stats are old. They encompass the old, those...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Ok folks- Scan on Dec. 1 and results on Dec. 4. The scan fear is real. I feel fine but get some aches and pains by the liver and back and sometimes lower. Not sure what it is but of course, I’m making myself nuts. Praying I’m NED. Thoughts have made me crazed- worrying I’ll need more surgery or folf...

Re: Stage 3 to 4

So glad you decided you were going to fight this with all you’ve got! I went from stage 3 to 4, four months after chemo stopped. Boy was I pissed off! Devastated everything!!!! I had one liver met removed. It was u fee 2cm which means it was early. I was lucky to be operable. It was laproscopic and ...

Thank you for this! All of it! I just had a liver resection in a met which was written up to be two small ones (looked like a dumbbell). I really hope those stats are correct and this Is oliometastatic disease.

Congrats! And enjoy life!

Re: Feeling good. So why am I worried?

What gets me through is that I remind myself that I don’t have to go to these appts. I can choose to not go. I go to save my life - to extend it. But I still have a choice. I choose to walk in to get a scan. That I have control over. Hang in there.

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

I can only hope that one day i will do it. I think it’s rare that stage 4 peeps remove them.

On a different note, has anyone taken milk thistle after resection? And is having some annoying pain there normal? Like soreness? Just worried when there is any bit of pain anywhere...

Re: Stage 4 to NED- Please tell us

Hi all, I am new here as of today and this is my first post. I was just diagnosed with stage 4 CRC on 10/5. I am a 40 year old male. I went for a colonoscopy due to stomach issues and woke up from that procedure with my wife standing over me crying her eyes out and being told i had to go straight t...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Stage 4 question- will I die with this stupid port in my body? Will it ever come out? Do any stage 4s ever have it removed? I’d imagine I’d be devastated to have to have it put in again... I hate it so much!!!!

Re: Hi, I'm new to the club

I’m sorry you are here too. Oncologists aren’t usually very warm and fuzzy. They fear telling. You the wrong thing. They stick to facts. My best advice to you is look for positive stories. Don’t giggle stats- they are old and include the old. Everyone is different. Chemo can shrink tumors so have so...

Re: Stage 4 to NED- Please tell us

Spazzyjanet, Good to hear that he is having an MRI. I have to advocate for my husband to get them instead of CTs as his CTs never picked up on his liver tumor. (I honestly don't know why the oncologist had ordered a CT in May when he originally said that surveillance was going to be with MRIs.) The...

Re: Stage 4 to NED- Please tell us

Get to resection then you are going for “cure.” I know it’s scary. I’m still scared. I went from stage 3c to 4 when one met invaded my liver. I had it resected immediately and no chemo needed for now. Life is relatively normal and everyday I am waiting for the show to drop. But I also think many peo...
