Re: Any Stage IV long term survivors here?

My mum is currently undergoing Folfox with Avastin. She has multiple lung nodules according to the CT scan. Her response to the chemo is quite good as her CEA lowered. I just want to know if there are any cases for patie.ra with multiple lung nodules and still a la to undergo surgery and NED. If so,...

Re: Colon cancer

It is always encouraging to hear such story. My um is a stage 4 patient with multiple lung mets. We rely want her to undergo surgery but the onco said it is not possible temporarily. We did ask for second opinion from other onco and got the same reply. So she is now undergoing folfox with Avastin. T...

Re: Anyone with Stage IVa just do Xelolda or 5-fu?

Hello. My mum is currently undergoing Folfox with Avastin. Oxi is one of the components and we temporarily find it acceptable. She has finished 2 rounds of chemo now, so far so good for the Oxi part. So why don't your husband just try and he may find the side effects may not be as bad as it varies a...

Re: Inserting Port or not

Thank you for all your advice. My mum is considering insert the port for it is horrible to find it on chest. If it is on the arm it would be much more acceptable for her. Moreover, her hand is still painful and bruising as the vein has been used to inject chemo drugs. She is so worried that the vein...

Re: Capecitabine seripus side effects

You better ask the doctor how long does your father take to be recovered. My mum has try capecitabine (xeloda) and has almost no side effects except for acceptable tiredness. She is currently undergoing Folfox and Avastin. Last time she also suffers from serious diarrhea and we sent her back to hosp...

Inserting Port or not

My mum is now undergoing chemo treatment of Folfox and Avastin. She has just completed her second treatment. As she has serious diarrhea last time, the onco offered her a discount of 85% so the chemo drugs being used this time has been reduced. However, my mum's arm has been red and a bit swollen th...

Re: Mom's surgery is set for 10/17/17

My mum is having a temp stoma and i think she accepted it alright. It is about 3 months from the surgery and she is able to take care of the stoma by herself. We did encountered lots of difficulties at first like red skin but we manage it well afterwards. 3 tips on that: 1. find a bag that is suitab...
