Re: Looking for Stage II Updates for Colon Cancer Peeps

2014 colon cancer stage IIA. Resection right ascending colon. No chemo. 3 years (almost to the day) stage IV recurrence with seeding on my omentum and caking on my liver. Hindsight- wish I had pressed to get chemo. Currently I've just finished my 16th round of chemo. My CEA was declining nicely then...

Re: Mom skipped a cycle of chemo, nervous (stage 3 rectal cancer)

I'm currently on my fourth week skipping a cycle due to 5FU causing some toxic issues in my hands. I'll be getting chemo again in my 5 week. A couple of times I have gone a month. Each time my CEA still dropped in points. I am very curious about what my number will be after this latest break. The ri...

Re: Scanxiety: Anyone else having testing now?

I have CEA test anxiety. I don't think about it until I go to bring up my blood test results on the computer. I hold my breath until I reach the very bottom. It's ALAYS listed at the bottom of the report. I don't suffer from scanxiety since I already know the cancer is there. I can appreciate that f...

Re: Chemo opitions

Xeloda is the pill form of 5FU. 5FU is usually where you wear a pump device home for approximately 48 hours then get disconnected. I think that the thinking is the 5FU gets into the system more effectively (?) There is some new thinking that 6 treatments of FOLFOX is as affective as doing the normal...

Re: New Member here on the forum

Also just watched a happy cry video on Facebook - crying also hurts! Definitely an effect on salivary and tear glands. Yeah, I learned early on to not watch tear jerkers.... Those are literately tear HURTERS! Man did that hurt! Those side effects should subside in a few days. It helps to keep a log...

Re: Rectal Discharge

Thank you for that explanation and in terms a normal person can understand! You rock!

I don't have a colostomy but you're explanation gives a much greater understanding of what others are going through. Very educational.

Again, thank you for what you do here! :)

Re: New hope for BRAF mutation?

I am BRAF V600e Mine is still responding well to chemo. Statistics are only stats. Who's to say that I can't be one of those that defy the stats? I was scared and in a dark place a few weeks ago. My CEA was doing a gentle climb and I was scared that it was the beginning of the end. I turned my think...

Re: Julie Yip Williams passed away last Monday, Mar 19th, 2018

I'm deeply saddened by this news. Not that it was unexpected but that it even had to happen. She was such an inspiration in so many ways. Overcame so many obstacles in her relatively short life.

42, so young. :(
