Re: Spread into Peritoneal

Yes I have. In fact, thats the only place my cancer has spread to. I've had cytoreductive surgery and will likely have another one this Spring. I'd be happy to answer any questions if you have any.

Re: Folfiri and Nausea

Same here. I was never nauseous even once when I did chemo in 2016. This time, I got sick immediately and I've been nauseous the entire time. It's very bizarre. I thought my body would be like "oh yeah I remember this, no problem" and instead it was like "oh God, what is this?". ...

Re: Need Support - Told today I'm on Palliative Care

I'm so happy for you! I remember how worried you were about the surgery and look at you now! :D

I'm hoping for a repeat cytoreductive surgery in the Spring. They are making me do 6 rounds of chemo first this time :x , but it should eliminate chemo post op.

Can chemo increase ALT & AST

Hey everybody. It's been awhile since I've posted. Im on 5FU (3rd round) and my AST and ALT numbers increased and I'm a bit worried. Although I am Stage 4, I've not yet had any cancer in my liver. It always comes back in my belly or pelvic area. This increase concerns me that something is wrong with...

Re: CEA jump from 2.8 to 33 in 6 weeks -- what to make?

At first when I had cancer only in my colon, my CEA never got above 1.9. 2 years later when it spread to my belly in 6 months it went from 1.9 to 447  . I had cytoreductive surgery 07/18 and since 03/19 its starting to creep back up...3.5, 6.8, 8.6. The CT scans show nothing & my oncologi...

Has anyone mentioned or suggested cytoreductive surgery as an option yet?

Re: Question about necessity of CEA labwork

CEA should always get done. Its just blood work so theres no reason not to do it. I was stage 3 and never had an elevated CEA. 2 years later, boom CEA 447. My CT a few months earlier showed nothing. I would insist on having it done as many times CT scans are not reliable.

Re: Friends, i am struggling, news of cancer are awful

I recently went through the same thing. Were they able to remove all of the cancer in surgery? I just had cytoreductive surgery. Everything was removed but chemo does not help according to my doc. Is HIPEC an option?

Re: New diagnosis and scared

I am sorry for the stage IV dx. Dont lose hope! There are many Stage IVers out there who are NED! You are only in the beginning of the journey. Your body could respond wonderfully to treatment. Try and heal yourself in the process of treatment. Good food choices and exercise are just as important as...

Re: Need Support - Told today I'm on Palliative Care

I am facing similar circumstances. I've spent the day in bed crying scared and depressed. This is of course not how I want to live the last months or years of my life. I feel I am at a crossroads and my strength and positivity are slowly going away. Its not easy to seek the truth as you did. Most pe...

Re: Vent, anyone else need to?

Yes I'm annoyed! I've literally been asked 10-15 times this week "how long do you have left to live?". It's very irritating and annoying. I want to respond with a smart ass answer like, "well how long do you have left to live?" or "doctor said Aug 5th at 12:05 so make sure y...
