Re: Signet Ring Cell Colon Cancer

The idea is that Signet Ring Cells are very heterogeneous, so its difficult to compare cases as far as chances of survival matter. But in general the pessimistic Dr Google has a point. Apperently I hosted one of the lesser evil varieties as 4 cycles of CapOx prior to HIPEC surgery did a number on th...

Re: Signet ring cell carcinoma

Shake hands..... I also rented my sigmoid to a mucineous signet ring CRC tumor. As it already presented itself in the peritoneum (unseen on scans, it was only found by the pathologist after surgery to remove the primairy,) I needed a second surgery (HIPEC) to get rid of those. Re: HIPEC question

No laparoscopic exam for me either. However, in The Netherlands and Belgium you only qualify for HIPEC in case CT's show no mets in lung and/or liver. Thankfully this policy is currently somewhat easing. For instance for patients with limited peritonial mets and a limited number of liver mets that a...

Re: Incidental LAMN tumour

Congrats on NED! During HIPEC to kill a few mets in the Cavum Douglasi and the precautionary removal of the remaining part of my sigmoid (got me a colostomy), a LAMN in my appendix was unexpectedly identified. The appendix was removed. The LAMN was considered to be quiet uneventful and should not ha...
