Re: New to this board and colon cancer

Hi Sue. So sorry to hear, but so glad to see that it was fairly early and that they feel they got it all. That's great news. As a woman of 48 and a Mom I can identify with all the crazy feelings. My surgery went fairly well and they used surgical glue vs. staples, so I can't speak to that part, but ...

Re: BrownBagger ....... I don't know what to say

I remember when Eric joined and his first avatar (I don't know how many here will remember it). It epitomized the name 'brownbagger' so well. Initially he was a stage IIA....just like me and I felt some sort of a 'connection' that here was someone who had the same diagnosis that I did. I remember b...

Re: BrownBagger ....... I don't know what to say

When someone says they have no words to describe how they feel .. and then go on to do so anyway When someone says they are gutted by an experience and just need to share their energy with their friends When someone who has been in and out of someone else’s life, and they yours, finds that their fr...

Re: Hi, I'm new here, but apparently my cancer is not!

Hey, I'm new to forums and to the whole cancer thing. I'm 33, wife to an amazing fellow and mother to a 3 yr old and a 6month old and I have stage 4 colon cancer that has metastasized to the peritoneum. My first surgery was in a small hospital and the surgeon just thought it was a mass and super un...

Re: Polyps in my mid 25s

That grading system / follow-up schedule makes sense. Glad to hear they'll keep an eye out. Yeah, I kind of thought that might be the case. Even outside of universal healthcare I think someone might have to hit something more as a qualifier before most insurances would cover lynch testing. The good ...

Re: Polyps in my mid 25s

Hi guys. I'm new in this forum and I'm from Denmark- Copenhagen (pardon my bad English). I got so desperate finding someone with a similar case, that I ended up here, in fact I almost cried when I found you because I felt so alone. I had for a long period been having blood on my stool and irritatio...

Re: 2nd Chemo treatment

I have now been waiting for an infusion scheduled to begin at 130 that's hasn't begun yet as of 330. That is after attending an appointment where I thought I would see my oncologist and instead only got the PA. Is this par for the course at major cancer centers? It feels like no one takes patients ...

Re: I need a little hope

I am hopeful that one day a liver resection will be possible but was very discouraged by the local doctor that performed my biopsy. He basically said there was no point in surgery on the colon tumor or liver. SO glad you are getting another opinion. If you want to check out what hope is like where ...

Sorry to hear it! That kind of fall is rough, especially with tough, independent patients. <:- )
Sending some Harmony-minded prayers her way, and yours too.

Re: Had PET scan this morning

As others have noted, I don't have the experience or knowledge that Lee and Karen do, but I wanted to let you know that my heart goes out to you. This wretched disease steals our humanity in so many ways. I hope you are able to get some good news and some relief, and I'll keep you in my thoughts and...

It has been a long six months, but in 2 hours I will take my last dose of Xeloda. :D :D :D I am now thinking about all the CT scans and bloodwork, especially CEA numbers. Scanxiety is now setting in.....but this forum will help me through it! Ct scans every 6 months and bloodwork every 3 months. My...

Re: Surgery is over

Surgery went well. In addition to the LAR and ileostomy, my surgeon also felt that my ovaries needed to be removed. I've already been for a walk, with plans for another later tonight. My mom and husband just left, so I'm goin to try to get some rest. So glad things went well for you, and that you w...
