Re: is it possible having a cancer and not losing weight?

I had gained a myserious 18 lbs the year before my diagnosis.

Currently cancer free and at a healthy weight.

Re: Venting !!

I hear you. I began menopause at 35, stopped periods during radiation. Hot flashes and all. Sex is always painful. I need to see my gynecologist but am putting it off until I have a better sense of my bowels. Oh what fun.
Glad the cancer is gone but I can't help but remember how easy life used to be.

Re: Going vegetarian - worth the trouble?

Who knows for sure. I had been vegetarian since I was 11. Still managed to get diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer at 35 years old. Personally I worry more about excess sugar and processed foods. I felt pretty healthy eating a ketogenic diet for 4 months after dianosis but found it too restrict...

Re: Input regarding ileostomy reversal surgery

I was 35 with three young children last year when I was diagnosed. Honestly I was so excited for reversal. As it came closer I found myself quite frightened. However when I woke up from surgery and placed my hand on my abdomen and there was no bag but just a small bandage I feel a giant sigh of reli...

Re: 3 days post reversal

I'm home. Never found out what caused the fever but most importantly I'm healing now. 7 days at the hospital after my reversal due to a gut that's slow to wake up.
The last 3 nights I've been up over 20 times going to the toilet. BM's are watery. Just glad to home and healing.

3 days post reversal

Had my ileostomy take down Friday. Today is Monday and I have not passed any gas. I have had a few episodes of 10/10 pain directly under my ribs, but most of my pain has been controlled with narcotics. Abdomen is distended and firm. Last night I had a fever 101.6, Tylenol brought it down. This morni...

Re: Abdominal block during lap resection

That's great! I honestly believe if I would of had the block before awaking from surgery I may not of had a 2 week hospital stay. The ileus I experienced during recovery was awful.
For the reconnection surgery in January my surgeon promises a block.

Congratulations on getting past this big hurdle :)
