My dear wife's graduation from this earth life

Friends, I haven't been on here a long time. But I wanted to let you know that my dear wife, Rachel, died peacefully on Dec. 27, 2017. I'm so happy she doesn't have the physical struggles anymore, particularly the difficulty breathing. But I'm left with a huge void and hole in my heart right now. So...

Update: It's just a matter of time

Hello friends, I still mostly lurk here on a regular basis, and read many of your stories. I'm happy to see the positive news from so many. I'm sad to be the bearer of bad news. My wife and I searched for clinical trials since the end of March through the summer and into August. All to no avail. Eit...

Re: Clinical Trials here we come...hopefully

Atezolumab + cobimitinib + Avastin trial at MDA (NCT02876224). I don't know much about that one, but it struck me as better potential than the LTT462. Yes. Remember that the trial that has better published data regarding response, for MSS, is the one with atezo and cobi, and all minus 1 participant...

Clinical Trials here we come...hopefully

So, as you can see from my updated signature...things are not exactly improving. In fact, it's the opposite. After 4 rounds of Folfox + Avastin my wife had scans in mid-March. Sadly, it appears that Folfox had zero affect. There are new and increasing size of numerous bilateral lung nodules compared...

Update: some good, some bad news

It's been awhile since I've posted. Normally I just read how everyone is doing. But it's time for an update. I got transferred back to Houston from Paris for work. So my wife finished up 8th round of FOLFIRI Dec. 7, 2016, and had a final Avastin infusion on Dec. 19 before we actually left Paris. We ...

Scan Update

My wife finished 6 tx of Folfiri + Avastin and had a PET scan to determine effectiveness so far. Got the results this past Monday and began round 7 on Tuesday. Her CEA and CA19-9 markers look completely normal. So, she does not show the normal tumor markers. They are useless to determine treatment e...

Re: Stage IV distant lymph node mets only questions

People here have mentioned SUV of 8-12-15, I think mostly with liver mets. Radiologists will see masses with 20-25 SUV, rarely 30. We saw a para aortic lymph node, ~2 cm perhaps the largest one of the three least treated and attentuated by chemo, IVC etc, at 8.3 SUV in a numerous node cluster, befo...

Re: Cancer in Lymph Nodes

Thank you all. I didn't have any problems with the 5FU the first time so hopefully this will be not so bad. I've already changed my diet and started supplements trying to hold off anymore traveling of the cancer until I can get somewhere. I'm trying to go to cancer treatment centers of America and ...

Re: Stage IV distant lymph node mets only questions

Thanks for all the links and tips.

Beansmamma, I'll let her know about the Folfox and what you're doing. I don't recall if she had the same thing with Folfox, but if she did, it seems to be more with Folfiri.

As Nik pointed out, I think it's Avastin related too.

Thanks again guys and best wishes.

Stage IV distant lymph node mets only questions

So, I've now updated my sig to reflect the latest scans from July for my wife. I don't participate much, but I'm on here 4-5x a week just to read others' experiences with this disease. I appreciate all the active posters, both with good and bad news, because it does help to read both, as it's likely...

Scan results and meeting with Onc - not good

I just wanted to follow up to my previous post about the ultra sound and CT scans. My wife also had a PET scan. The liver issue I mentioned in my previous post is nothing according to her onc., fatty liver or whatever, it's benign. He said there is no evidence of the cancer in liver, lung, brain, or...

Re: Question about results from new round of scans

Thanks for the replies. No doubt a PET scan will tell us what we need to know. I was just curious if anyone had similar results from CT scans and what it might mean. I'm mainly worried that what the radiologist terms fatty liver, is not really fatty liver, but of course metastasis, but that they may...
