Re: GOOD NEWS ON BEANSMAMA

Hi everyone, I hope you all are having a good holiday season. I find myself in the hospital again. I had quite the pleural effusion - they have done a thoracentisis (spelling?) twice now. The first one removing 1 1/2 liters of fluid. It seems that was the max they could drain for the very first one ...

Re: GOOD NEWS ON BEANSMAMA

Well I am home! Took some juggling but I am in my house with my own things and so much more comfortable. I do have home health coming to run my fluids etc. Drains and dressing will be changed at the surgeons office as they were before. Still have a ton of edema and am patiently waiting for the flui...

Re: Tom marsilje

A truly sad thing to see. He was a truly great man. He definitely went too soon, as all the good ones do.

My condolences to his family and friends. Rest In Peace Tom.

You will be greatly missed by many.

Re: GOOD NEWS ON BEANSMAMA

Good morning everyone, BeansMama checking in again. Still doing iv fluids through my picc line every other day. Resting as much as i can. Right now I'm sitting with our full blooded chihuahua on my lap, she's hiding under my robe. It's a chilly morning so we are keeping each other warm and toasty. G...

Re: GOOD NEWS ON BEANSMAMA

We have not heard from Beansmama for a week. Is everything going OK? I am doing well, just relaxing and letting myself heal for the most part. I have ventured out for a few doctor's appointments and a couple of trips to the store. I am usually pretty wiped out after that and spend the next day rest...

Re: GOOD NEWS ON BEANSMAMA

Hello, everyone, Going to be pretty short (and can't guarantee proper spelling lol) Thank you all so much for all the positive thoughts. I don't remember cussing up a storm etc. I would wake up and then go back under because I was waking up combative. It was very much like Alice in wonderland. My mo...

Re: BeansMama, you are not far from my thoughts and prayers.

Hi every one , Thank you so much for all of your extra thoughts and prayers. I can admit the last few days have been pretty emotional. The parental units landed Sunday evening, and in true mom form my mother has been stressing me out and taking pot shots at me every time she can. It's pretty bad whe...

Re: My husband walked out

Hi Anne, Lee mentioned me in her comment. I am going through something similar to you. My Ex had an affair while I was receiving Folfirinox - or as my oncologist called it "the kitchen sink". To put it bluntly I was dying and had no emotional support because he was putting all that energy...

Re: Colon cancer scared!

I'm glad you got approval for a colonoscopy. While they are not very fun it really is the only way to rule it out. My 9 cm tumor showed as inflammation on my initial CT scan and my liver Mets were said to be lesions. I had a 10 almost 11 cm tumor between the lobes of my liver as well as a few small...

Re: Worried - Your Symptom Experience

I had flat thin stools, there was a noticeable amount of maroon blood in the stool itself as well as bright red blood in the toilet. I had severe pain in my tailbone (tumor was very large and pushing on it). Having a BM took 45 minutes to an hour and was so painful I would end up in tears. I could n...

Re: Rant - colon vs rectal cancer

Ignorance is frustrating, but we only know this so thoroughly because we have experienced it and learned about it. I did not have a clue about the difference between rectal and colon cancer before this. Not every person in the medical field really thinks about the rsmiguvations of terminology, espe...

Re: Larry has an eviction date!!!

Beans is hanging in there. I was prepared to press for the surgery if they wanted to delay it again because all of the delays were contributing to her anxiety. She actually is a bit better knowing it is happening. I have been spending every minute I can with her making special memories just in case...

Re: Larry has an eviction date!!!

Woo, Hoo! Wow, what a range of emotions as you approach 10/5, and how incredibly exciting that you will finally get to evict Larry. Such a positive, funny woman. . . Love that you take time to write those 'special letters' 'just in case.' I've started mine too. Do you hand write them? I am typing t...
