Re: Do you imagine being told you are cured?

Being Stage 4. I like to think I will be cured. I try to live with hope.

Some days I come crashing back down to earth.

Some days I catch myself dreaming.

We have to dream big.

Like you I have lost so much and I just crave to go back to work etc and be normal.

Dream big.

Re: 5-FU cumulative side effects?

I have had over 35 sessions of 5FU. It gets worse the longer you are on it. I am not surprised a Dr would say that your first dose is how you are going to be. I ended up in hospital several times because my body just got tired from the 5FU. I had to have a break after every 5th cycle. I also ...

Re: starting vectibix tomorrow, side effects are scary

I am another Stage 4er. My cancer grew while on my first rounds of Oxy and FU. In January 2016 I started on Vectibix. I will be honest I responded very well to Vectibix but when you respond well. It means the side effects are bad. The dry pimply skin, red burning rash, dry nose, Spilt feet, infectio...

Re: vectibix

I have been on Vectibix for nearly 7 months. I have ended up in hospital due to the rash causing so much dryness that my body started to shut down. But in saying that I have gone from Dec 15 being told that the cancer has spread to lymph nodes in my neck and abdomen to March 16 being told I am now N...

Thank you for sharing this with us. While I am stage 4 and currently in remission (only been 3 months). But still on Chemo.
My Dr seems to talk with such dread not positives. I need to know that we can and could beat this monster of Stage 4.

Re: Stage IV Colon Cancer on the ROAD TO RECOVERY

We do not want to go for chemotherapy, I am surprised that you say this. Its not your body and you are not a Dr or God to be playing around with another persons life. Sorry I was told I wouldnt need chemo.... Within 4 weeks of having the turmour removed the cancer had spread. I chose chemo and I am...

Re: How to cope with an "affair" when terminally ill (sorry, it's long)

My belief is its an emotional affair. He is putting time and effort into another woman and not you. It has taken me 12 months or more of therapy to realise my husband does not respect me or our marriage. He can tell me he loves me to the end of the earth but telling another women deepest secrets and...

Re: How to cope with an "affair" when terminally ill (sorry, it's long)

Oh my gosh I could have written your post myself. I found my husband sex texting messages to a "new" female staff member just as I was DX with cancer. In fact I knew something was going on before my DX but he lied to my face and said they where just friends. Until I found the vile skype me...

Re: Immunotherapy

I am in Australia. Stage 4. I was told at Christmas time that I am incurable. I had already had several rounds of Folfox 5 chemo. In late January of this year. I started Folfox with Vectbix. In March this year I had a CT Scan and PET scan and there was no signs of cancer being awake. And I am now in...

Re: lymph nodes mets

Shan I hope the numbers come down.

My oncolgyist is not too concerned about my CEA levels because he said colon cancer can't always be predicted by those numbers. They are too unreliable.

Good luck my friend. Its hard not being in control of this journey.

Re: Rant

So glad I am not the only one feeling these emotions. I was told when I was in hospital by a family member who wanted to see me but I felt so unwell. "Its not all about you". I feel like if I tell people how I am really feeling that I am making them feel bad but they have no idea what I am...
