Re: Just found out yesterday I have colon cancer.

Sorry that you are here. I was also completely shocked. But than I realized I am greatful it's me and not my children. Did you have the polyp already removed during colonoscopy. Or waiting for surgery because they couldn't remove it? I am almost 2 years out and my children are 16 and 14 years old no...

Re: Experiences with T1 - please share with me

That's very detailed pathology. My wasn't as detailed. Only included size of the malignant part: 0.6 cm. But not how deep in went. But all 3 of my reports do show head invasion only. Stalk was clear of any dysplacia so just s regular polyp stalk. Did your surgeon estimated your risk of lymph nodes? ...

Re: Colonoscopy, polyps and going forward

I am Czech. Our diet is terrible - all meat and no vegetable at all. Yes, Melanoma is a skin cancer. Again so happy for you that your polyp was precancerous. I wished I had symptoms. My polyp was 5 cm and I hardly had symptoms. Than one day I did and I went to doc.the cancer was only 0.6 cm but stil...

Re: Colonoscopy, polyps and going forward

From my understanding Lynch is associated with the flat polyps types of polyps. My cancer polyp was there for many years. I would not be suprised for 10 plus years. I did all the genetic testing so my kids know for all cancers available. Nothing came up. Crazy that because of my polyp I transfer all...

Re: Colonoscopy, polyps and going forward

Congratulations on catching your polyp on time. I have a 16 and 14 year old. And they will start with colonoscopy at 25. We have no history in our family of colon cancer.

Colonoscopy, polyps and going forward

I had a large cancerous polyp at 39. At that time a small 2 mm polyp was removed from the cecum. Clear colonoscopy 1 year later. Now at 2 years another 2 mm polyp. Next colonoscopy in 2 years. I am lynch negative. These small polyps are tubular adenomas. What do you think? Do even people at early 40...

Re: Experiences with T1 - please share with me

With t1 polyps the doc are trying to estimate risk of lymph nodes involvement based on location, type of polyp, negative features etc... I have a almost 2 year colonoscopy coming up on Friday. The same day in the evening I am heading to watch my kiddo play at a varsity game and than to a Halloween p...

Re: Experiences with T1 - please share with me

Looks like you didn't have a surgery correct but your tumor wasn't removed completely during colonoscopy. And you had radiation and chemo to treat tumor and possible spread. That makes total sense to me. In our polyp cancer type of situation it's different and unclear. Our polyps with little element...

Re: Experiences with T1 - please share with me

Mozart, For t1 colon or any colon cancer I think radiation is never used. Also chemo is not used for t1 colon. The only other option is to have surgery and check the lymph nodes. If clear lymph nodes statistics show that possible spread from t1 cancer is like 2 / 3% so that's why chemo is not used. ...

Re: Experiences with T1 - please share with me

Hi, Sorry you are here. Yes, I had t1 in pedunculated polyp. That's the type that looks like a mushroom. The polyp was huge 5 cm. 3 cm head and 2 cm stalk. Highgrade dysplacia in the head. Stalk was completely free of any dysplacia. No vascular invasion. I had 3 different pathology reports done and ...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Polyps can get very big. My was huge. 2 cm stalk and 3 cm head. The cancer was 0.6 cm on the top of the head. I didn't have any symptoms and suddenly started to bleed so I had colonoscopy. I think my polyp could had been there for 10 years from what I have read. My kids 13 and almost 16 will have to...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

That's a great news! Polyps are usually early cancers. I also had a polyp but it was only cancerous at the very top. It was completely removed during colonoscopy. It was a mushroom type / pedunculated. Yours was probably sessil because otherwise it would had been removed during colonoscopy. Unless i...
