Re: On My Way to the Land of Semi-Colon

So it is skin growing up around me stoma. Weird. For my next infusions they are going to switch me to a regular Infusion pump stead of the heat activated ball I had.

Re: On My Way to the Land of Semi-Colon

Thanks for the well wishes. A bit late getting back to this post to update regarding surgery. I was in the hospital from Wednesday through Sunday afternoon. The surgery went well but I had to have an NG tube inserted due to 'sleeping bowels". During the ileostomy surgery, the surgeon also disco...

On My Way to the Land of Semi-Colon

I am having my LAR surgery this morning. I glued googly onto my two stoma markings. I used super glue. Good thing the stoma markings are covered by Tagaderm. For one of my radiation treatments I had my daughter draw "Kilroy was here" on my butt. I couldn't figure out a safe place to draw h...

Re: Problems with Fingerprints (after chemo)

Hi Jaynee, The last few times I was fingerprinted was several years ago. It was before any chemo. They had a hard time getting prints. They said I barely had any fingerprints and asked if I worked with chemicals or anything (no). They said they generally only see this with people who are bricklayers...

My Particular Experience with Chemoradiation (long)

I thought I'd post my particular experience with chemoradiation, now that I'm feeling better. I took 2,500 mg of Xeloda (1000 and 1500, one every 12 hours). Hopefully, it might someday prove helpful to someone else. I began treatment on January 25th. I had a tough time. Firstly, my rad onc did not w...

Re: Beginning the end of my journey

Very sorry to hear this, Crystald. I will be praying for your comfort, peace, strength and absence of pain. So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory b...

Re: Need Guidance

So sorry to hear about this latest development, Gisella. As for the Paxil, it (and all SSRIs) take up to eight weeks for the full effects to take effect. I would give it a couple of months. Your doctor will undoubtedly tell you the same thing.

Re: Cancer Owl

Oh thanks, Dave! For some reason I didn't have any luck with that menu button but I'm using my iPhone. Maybe it's using Flash. Anyway, found the archives by googling. Here is the link for the rest of the comics in case anyone else runs into the the same problem. Looking forward to reading more. I wa...
