My Dr said that it takes 10 to 12 yrs for a polyp to become cancerous. That my polyp took that long to become cancerous. Mine was at the location cut, of a prior surgery that removed my appendix. Call mayo clinic or md Anderson both have oncologists on staff. Both hospitals are also great cancer facilities.

It will depend on your type of surgery. I was lucky my pain was minimal after surgery. My only pain killer was Tylenol. So I healed pretty fast. I went on a 7 day Caribbean cruise, 6 weeks after surgery. I was also giving travel talks 3 weeks after surgery. So if all goes good, figure by three weeks...

Get copies of your medical reports and biopsies. I suggest you seek a second opinion.
Plus get it removed ASAP. Do not wait a long time to get it removed. The sooner the better.
