Most recent surgery in NY (april) for removal of residual colon tumor and liver pump-did not go as planned they found 3 peritoneal spots -in June developed hip pain- though it was due to positioning-turns out its bone mets (who gets bone mets from colon cancer???) --anyway Onco...

so confused I don't know where to start

just had surgery 4/7 @MSKCC-plan was for removal of residual colon tumor (or new one) and HAI pump for known liver mets (the liver mets are 10-15 small (3MM) nodules spread throughout.. While they were in there found 2-3 peritoneal mets (very small) also-so no HAI pump and back home to chemo I get t...

Re: How many opinions - deciding on treatment

it sucks because you never know you've made the right choice-like dealing for a car (could I have done better)?? another thought see if any friends used one of the oncologist--basically you've seen 3 and 2 agree, unless I had strong reasons for doubting them -I'd go with the whichever one I was more...

THANK YOU so much-those were all nagging questions we had but couldn't think about because of surgical focus
one less thing to worry about

again quick thanks to all who suggested pushing past MSKCC front desk and contacting Kemeny directly--surgery next week, colon tumor out , hopefully attack liver and add pump, I searched on site looking to see peoples experience with the pump- when is 1st infusion, how frequent, how long does it run...

Re: New spots on the liver

chemo 1st seems the way to go--I went for resection of residual tumor/node in August--they found 8-12 areas in the liver-closed me up and back on Folfiri since then (they felt if they attacked the liver then it would delay the start of chemo) so here I am 6 months later and hopefully surgery at MSK ...

Re: how patient should you be

thank you all--UofP still without surgical date-or call back---hoping for call back today (my wife can get pushy) and she has run out of patience, have contacted MSK and asked for appt with Kemeny-they took insurance info and waiting on callback-already faxed up some history-MSK had previously said ...
