Re: Xeloda+Oxaliplatin questions

I've never heard of that. I wonder his reasoning. I could see that it does give you some time to heal from surgery, but Im not sure. I don't think it's a bad Idea to do some Oxaliplatin to kill anything that may still be kicking around. I believe at least 6 rounds in the adjuvant setting is proven b...

Re: New with Questions

I'm glad to read you scheduled your colonoscopy because it really is the best way to see all of what could be going on. Many tests lije ultrasounds just don't answer all the questions so you end up with test after test. Your symptoms are definitely concerning and I am sorry you are going through thi...

Re: Colonoscopy identified Cancer - What questions should I prepare for the doctor

I strongly suggest finding a board certified colorectal surgeon to do the resection as you will have less chance of complications later. This is what they do all the time. I wish I had. I didn't even know they existed when I had my resection. They just know how to do the procedure so much better fro...

Re: Train wreck!

Sometimes we have to put the work into ourselves and let the other stuff slide for a bit. You'll feel better soon, but right now you need to allow yourself to grieve and process all you've been through.
We care about you. Hugs.

We'll miss you Anne but we can find solace in knowing how profoundly beautiful your next adventure is going to be. Safe travels friend.

May your joys be deep as the ocean
Your troubles as light as its foam
And may you find sweet peace my friend
Wherever you may roam

Yes. That happens to me. When I have bowl irritation I sometimes get a low temp like 96.5. I usually run low though. By normal temp is 97.6.

Re: Afraid I have colon cancer

You might ask to get on the wait list for any cancellations that may come up for your GI doc before your scheduled appointment. You sound like you need help now and not in one month. Call them and tell them you can't wait a month because you're sick now. Call your general practitioner if you can't g...

Re: Durvalumab and Cediranib Clinical trial - I'm in!

Hi KElizabeth, Sorry to know the clinical trial did not work for you. Last week I had a conversion with my Onc. In his opinion, Roche's immunotherapy for mCRC is a good candidate for a clinical trial. Please see Roche's Investor Update dated May 18, 2017. It states that if RO6958688 is combined wit...

Re: Durvalumab and Cediranib Clinical trial - I'm in!

Do you know your KRAS mutation? Yes. I have KRAS mutation as well as TP53 and APC. I think that you're the first person that I've run into here with multiple mutations and these are in multiple genes as well. TP53 and APC are supposed to regulate cell growth and prevent tumors. I hope that your doc...

Re: Durvalumab and Cediranib Clinical trial - I'm in!

Scan results are in and I've had significat disease progression. I'm out of the trial.
Time for plan B.
The doctors at NIH think Hard chemo is needed for awhile. We're considering some trials and maybe we'll start with a few desensitization treatments of Oxaliplatin while we look for other options.
