Re: Port return...

Absolutely, it’s totally normal. I’ve had to sit in the office, not getting treatment, because the port is blocked. The nurses have a bunch of techniques to free it up, it usually works for me, eventually.

Again, Gina is correct. I found it was my finger/toe nails breaking open the skin around them, from just walking or picking something up.

Re: Anyone pass out after abdominal cramping??? ER time

It’s terrible you both have to go through this, this cancer business is tough. I’ve often thought the treatment can be worse than the disease, and you’re seeing it upfront and personal. Re: Newly diagnosed and questions

If there is a pump involved it is likely a 5FU pump, and you wear that for 46 hours straight. Then you may have to go back to the doctor to get it disconnected. It’s a miserable few days every few weeks, sounds like he’s not ready to hear it.

I second everything Gina said, I’d add skin glue for the fingers and toes. They may split open and bleed everywhere.

Re: Possible lymph node metastasis

In response to your question boxhill, my husband has not been genetically tested yet. The problem is that my husband doesn’t want to research, go through the reports, look at blood levels, his PET scan and then ask questions etc... There’s a few reasons for that, one is that he is not the type to l...

It’s always warm in AZ!

My issue with chemo breaks is that it’s very difficult to go back on it, of course I’ve had 80 plus rounds.

I get tired, very tired, and that’s about it for now. I expect more side effects in the future, I just live one day at a time. When’s your scan? Mines the 22nd.

Cure cancer? I don’t think so, but it might make you feel better. I went all in and just use medical cannabis, improves my mood every time!

Hi stu I have ups and downs. I need a chemo break. I dont onow if these are common but my body is begging for a break. Hope you and your mom are well. Just tell the doctor you need 1 cycle (or more) off, they’ll do it. It is a risk, he will tell you that, I’ve found if you feel life isn’t worth liv...

If you’re smarter than oncologists, and near the level of Einstein, why not become an Oncologist? It’s a serious question, using your own words, not a defamation.
