Re: Treading H2O on FOLFOX; Q on potential blockages

Thanks, BS. (Love the username, BTW!) This is all very helpful information. Sorry my question was so ignorant of the facts. I promise I will definitely make better use of the search function, as I am sure this and many of my other lingering questions have been asked and addressed previously. We are ...

Re: Treading H2O on FOLFOX; Q on potential blockages

Hi, Karen! Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my totally panicked and uneducated question. I tend to spend lots of time reading what everyone here writes, and I only post a message when I have lost. my. mind. I felt a little bit like everyone was thinking, "You are unhinged and...

I hope you are better now, but I preach The Purple Bomb to all who listen. 2-4 oz prune juice 1 dose Milk of Magnesia top off with ginger ale or sprite For basic maintenance, find you some of these (actually delish) prunes: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sunsweet-One-California-Prunes-12-oz/16555435 Goo...

Treading H2O on FOLFOX; Q on potential blockages

Was confereneced in to my dad's appointment with his MDA oncologist on Friday. As happens from time to time, the doc was all doom and gloom. Dad's CEA is now up to 118 from 30 something in Nov. CEA has been a decent enough stat for us so we can't completely discount it now, particularly when the mos...

Re: FOLFIRI+Erbitux = Numbness in feet and fingers?

Sorry to bump, but I wondered if anyone had experienced numbness on FOLFIRI and Erbitux. We're already moving forward with the B6 so we shall see if that helps.

Thanks!

FOLFIRI+Erbitux = Numbness in feet and fingers?

My dad is now 4 rounds into FOLFIRI, the last 3 of which have included Erbitux. He feel like his neuropathy that he had with FOLFOX is getting worse, though it is possible this is hand/foot syndrome that feels similar to FOLFOX neuropathy. In his words: There is a constant numbness in the tips of al...

Re: Shingles question

I am so sorry you are having to deal with this on top of everything else. I had shingles, and it was -- and still is on occasion -- brutal. I still feel it now, and I had the rash 2+ years ago. I asked my doc about getting the shot after the rash healed, and he said that it wouldn't have eliminated ...

Re: The Toll That Cancer Takes On Relationships

Julie,

You are a wonderful writer, and I am so grateful that you allow people to know the unvarnished version of you. Everyone's journey is different and yet similar in so many ways, and your voice is so very valuable in this crazy world in which we live.

Re: Wives of husbands with Stage IV Colon Freaking Cancer

Hi, christyB. Welcome to the club none of us ever wanted to be a part of. I am a daughter not a wife, but I can so relate to the difficulty in watching life get harder for them. I don't know if your oncologist would approve, but when my dad's constipation became extreme, we gave him "The Purple...

Wow. You have been going through some crazy twists and turns, which must have been difficult. Saying some extra prayers for you that the smaller stomach means the New med is working. And here's hoping you get your appetite back soon.

I don't have any informed info for you, but I just wanted to say that I am sorry you are dealing with such a tough decision. I can appreciate your desire to get back to chemo as soon as possible. I am sure some folks will come along who can give you some good info.
