Re: juliej?

Thank you so much, Stu! I so like to see you here. Last 2 years were not easy for us all. I was planning to come back to work and passed some exams that were allowing me to move forward. Then, Covid came and uncertainty ruled. My husband got furloughed, I started homeschooling kids and had to resche...

Re: mucinous adenocarcenoma

Julia, where are you right now? Where are you getting your treatment? I am based in US since 2015 but I am originally from Poland. I am doing good and kicking in spite of the mucinous component. I have scanxiety before each set of scans but it's only once a year now. Try to stay active. Physical exe...

Re: mucinous adenocarcenoma

I am sorry I hardly ever come here now. I did all the genetic tests available 8 years ago. MSKCC tested the samples as well. Much changed from that time. Good luck!

Re: juliej?

I miss juliej as well. She helped me a lot. However, I understand moving on. I myself hardly ever open the website I used to post almost every day. This forum helped me so much and I am grateful for it and all the people here.

Re: Who are the longest stage 4 survivor's on here?

So happy to see all the amazing stories! I am reaching 8 years myself. Thank you cptmac whom I probably own my life. I found her post on a forum and pursued her line of treatment. Thank you Cynthia! You encouraged me at the beginning of this road. I followed you to MSKCC where Dr Kemeny took a good ...

Re: mucinous adenocarcenoma

Hi! I hope you are doing okay in these difficult times. I am originally from Poland. My tumor had mucinous component. I got diagnosed in 2015 with stage 4 crc (mets to the liver) at 40. I got treatment in MSKCC in NY. I was stage 4 so I received FOLFIRINOX as first choice chemo. Yesterday I got my s...

I wanted to add that with all the strong chemo that I received I was lucky to avoid neuropathy. I am very happy that your wife is doing so well.

Re: Stage 4 Rectal Cancer 45yo Wonderful Woman

I had mouth sores, too. Dr. Kemeny recommended simple 1 tea spoon of baking soda and 1 spoon of salt wash. It worked. I still use it sometimes.

Re: Stage 4 Rectal Cancer 45yo Wonderful Woman

Hi! FOLFOX can mean cure. :) Especially with Avastin. I know patients for whom it did. JulieJ comes to my mind first. FOLFIriNOX is indeed toxic... I survived a few and got a complete pathological response. Dr. Kemeny chose FOLFIRINOX as I was young and determined. She told me in general woman's liv...

Re: Stage 4 Rectal Cancer 45yo Wonderful Woman

I would also suggest NutriDrinks and long walks. Dr. Kemeny usually encourages being active. I walked with chemo pump attached. It helped to survive long, exhausting chemo time. By the way I am 46, now. 40 at diagnosis exactly 6 years ago, today on my 10th wedding anniversary. Today is my 16 wedding...
