Re: Small update . . . .

Thanks, guys. My sister-in-law has a friend who lives near MDA and has graciously offered to let me stay with her. Still not sure if I'm going to fly or go by car (with someone else driving, of course!) My husband drove me to work this morning, as the dizzies are still there today. Argh. Butt I'm st...

Small update . . . .

This morning, I met with the neuorsurgeon to discuss my on-going dizziness / imbalance issues. During the office visit / exam, he did not seem overly-concerned, explaining (which I already knew) that it could be the result of swelling caused by the brain radiation. He tends to err on the side of cau...

Re: Things Not to Say and the Responses I want to Make (Rant)

Inorganic8 ~ I can SO relate to everything you said in your post. My brother-in-law is just one of the many people who shares several of these opinions. In March while I was in the hospital recovering from brain tumor removal surgery, he told me about a friend of his who 'cured' his 'cancer' (no spe...

Still dizzy . . BUTT, still here . . .

So yesterday I was mildly (i.e. "regular") dizzy/off-balance, as compared to the way I felt on Tuesday. Today I feel somewhere in between how I felt - not as bad as Tuesday, butt a little more dizzy than yesterday. Still able to drive myself, though I try not to change lanes as turning my ...

Re: Beansmama Checking in

Beans, Oh, my dear. My heart goes out to you! I echo Tracy (WriterGirl's) sentiments. I am THRILLED for your good news on the CRC front, yet I am angry for the turn your personal life has taken. You are strong. A warrior. A champion. An ass-kicker! I cannot begin to fathom how you feel, but you WILL...

Re: Had PET scan this morning

Karen, Thank you - for everything. I have not worked closely AT ALL with the rad onc, unlike with my medical/regular onc., who "gets" me and takes his time to explain things & listens to me. Only once, earlier this year, was I VERY annoyed with him as I felt I was being rushed. That is...

Re: Had PET scan this morning

Lee & Karen, As always, thanks so much for your insight & recommendations. I think what has me most concerned is the fact that each day, the unsteady feeling has increased, just like the last 2 times they found a tumor. It's hard for me to forget those awful experiences, especially when they...

Re: Had PET scan this morning

Neurosurgeon's office just called to set up an office appointment for Friday morning. I'm relieved they didn't want me to go to the ER today, but of course, that doesn't take away my unsteadiness when moving. Tomorrow I'm going to call my onc's office to see about PET results. If nothing of concern ...

Had PET scan this morning

I have an appointment with my onc on Monday, which is when I suppose I'll get the results. Ataxia has gotten worse the past few days - I really shouldn't have driven myself to the scan, but I didn't realize HOW bad it was until it was time to leave. No time to call for a ride. I put a call into the ...

Re: Should I still be so tired?

peanut, Aw, shucks - I'm honored and humbled. :) Had the port put back in yesterday. In the afternoon I took a nap, which I believed went on for hours, but when I checked the clock (i.e., my cell phone), it had only been one hour. Ever since last Thursday I feel like I'm struggling more each day wit...

Re: Should I still be so tired?

My head still doesn't feel 'normal' - I'm still experiencing that disconnected/fuzzy feeling, though maybe it's gotten a little better? It's hard to tell exactly. I get a dull ache up the back of my head now and then, which I've found is alleviated once I stop what I'm doing, sit down, and close my ...

Re: O/T CRguy's diagnostic ramblings

My colorectal surgeon believes the 'standard colonoscopy screening age of 50' needs to be pushed waaaay up, like in the early 30's, at least. Having been Dx'ed at 41 (with zero 'risk factors' and the only symptom being blood in the stool here & there - even my bloodwork at the time of Dx was 'no...
