Re: Bad News From Doc

Wow, thanks for the outpour guys! I took a few days off to get my head around the news. All of this is just lovely to come back through and there are a ton of good ideas here for me to get looking into!

Bad News From Doc

Found out today that chemotherapy is no longer working. The mets in my liver have grown significantly and moved onto the lymph nodes, pelvic area, and even some spots down around my stoma. It's weird because if I'm going down, I'm excited to get off chemo! Hoping to get a new life expectancy by Tues...

Bleeding around stoma

Hi everyone, I know that some bleeding around the stoma is normal but since yesterday, I have been producing quite a bit. It seemed to start while I was changing the bag yesterday. Then today there is a good amount with each time I empty/rinse the bag. The hospital says not to worry as long as press...

Re: Just a Statistic of Course

I'm not sure I can believe I'm going back to being healthy again. It's just mixing up my entire brains, I wish I never had it and can't even remember how I suppose to be feeling when I'm healthy Annemiek, Shortly after my originally DX I, of course, was telling EVERYBODY. I was Stage IV. I was inop...

Re: Just a Statistic of Course

So I had my Y90 treatment on Tuesday. I told doc all about the pain I've been having and he thinks it's constipation from pain killers I've been taking for my back. He prescribed me from stool softener which hopefully works because I do NOT need an obstruction! The Y90 really knocked me on my butt. ...

Just a Statistic of Course

I know it's like blasphemy among cancer patients to pay attention to the prognosis (haha, kidding) but I am quickly sliding up to the one year mark since mine. That's one year out of the two they've given me. I'm about to get Y90 treatments on Tuesday and all of a sudden I have intense pain everywhe...

Re: When to tell children your dying?

I couldn't wait to tell my daughter. I had been in and out of the hospital so much that she was as curious as everybody else and I felt like she had the same right to know that they did. We told her that I have cancer, that I'm going to be in the hospital a lot trying to get better, but that I will ...

Angiomapping

I went in yesterday for my angiomapping in preparation for my Y90 treatments on the 13th of October. Everything went fine. I was mostly conscious and able to hold my breath when they told me and blah, blah, blah. Then, at the end, doc says "PJ, I know your groin is sensitive so it might hurt a ...

Re: Feeling Worried

How difficult would it be for you to get a new doctor? This is your life, your comfort we're talking about here! You need a colonoscopy so you can start feeling better. Nobody your age should have to live with this pain in this day and age with so much knowledge and treatments available!

Re: colon cancer spread to peritoneum

Mine is in my peritoneum after the tumor broke through my colon wall. I see a specialist in Seattle who hopes that my regular rounds of chemo are helping to beat it down a little. If they are ever to clear my liver, they would move on to Hipec for the peritoneum. However, he was not very hopeful. I ...

Re: Doxycycline for Erbitux acne rash

Thanks, Nik

So, in your opinion, should I put in a special call to Onc to tell him I quit taking them?

Doxycycline for Erbitux acne rash

My acne rash got bad enough that Onc prescribed me Doxycycline. He told me I could expect to see results in two days, so I was very excited. The trouble is, after 7 or 8 days, there was NO difference in the rash (I even thought it was worse, my wife thought it was just the same) and the only thing t...
