Re: Enema experts

I just want to say thanks. I'm going on Day 4 of this new routine, and I feel like I have my life back. Total game changer. I can't thank you enough.

Enema experts

Hi there, I'm wondering if there are any daily enema experts out there who would be willing to suggest what supplies I should purchase and any tips as I get started. This is all new to me and I'm not sure what to buy. I'm so grateful to be done with tx and NED, but I'm struggling with LARS and am ho...

Daily enema advice

Hi, I'm 2.5 months post reversal and frustrated. I go days 4 or so days without a BM, then have two days with constant clustering. I'm sore and unsure of what to eat, and just feel taxed emotionally and physically. I'm ready to try an enema as a possible solution. I have searched for and read throug...

Re: 5 weeks post-reversal

Thank you for your responses. I started Metamucil and Align this morning and am hoping for some relief. I'm also back on the BRAT diet until there is some improvement.

How many times a day do you take Metamucil?

Re: 5 weeks post-reversal

Thanks. I read through the reversal thread but didn't see anything that reflects my experience. Thought I would post and see if anyone had any advice on the pain. Your point on patience is well-taken. Thank you.

5 weeks post-reversal

I had my Ileostomy takedown about 5 weeks ago and I'm struggling. My stools are solid and well-formed but I experience constant clustering and extremely painful bowel movements. In fact I'm sore all the time. It feels similar to how it felt toward the end of radiation, that 'razor blade' feeling. Ha...

Re: Reversal Log: Experience,Problems, Q & A's

Hi, I am 3.5 weeks out from my reversal. I was able to return to work 1.5 weeks following my surgery. I took 3 weeks off following my LAR for a frame of reference. I've had two 'bad days' where the clustering became unbearable at work and l had to leave, but otherwise I've managed fine. Best of luck...

Re: Facing temp ileostomy reversal

Hi, I just finished a very similar treatment regiment and I also have a reversal coming up next month. While I am excited to be nearing the end of this journey, I have the same fears. I'm a runner, and I'm very worried that post-reversal I won't be able to run, among other things. I have been doing ...

Re: Low Anterior Resection Syndrome: Do you have it?

My reversal is scheduled for sometime in April, and reading this thread makes me nervous. Any advice for me going in to this? Things to expect or discuss with my surgeon?

Post-operative fluid collection

I had my first post-treatment CT scan yesterday and it came back clean, no evidence of disease. My oncologist did say that the scan is showing post-operative change with fluid collection in the pre sacral space, as well as soft tissue thickening in this area. He feels it is due to the surgery (I had...

Re: Help plz- discouraged after 3rd Folfox

Thank you Rebequita - do you just take it for those 4 days each round? Or daily while on chemo? Hi, They administered it through my port just prior to each infusion, and then sent three 10 mg tabs home with me, one for each day following the infusion. This is a high dose, but my nausea was so sever...

Re: Help plz- discouraged after 3rd Folfox

I just finished my last round (6th) of Folfox/Oxaliplatin. I had a really tough time with severe, delayed nausea. I tried Zofran, Compazine, Ativan, and Emend, and none of those regiments had any effect on my nausea. On Round 4, they implemented Zyprexa, which I took for four days following my chemo...

Re: Worried about lung mets

Lydia666- Hi, sorry for the delayed reply. I had three suspicious nodes at time of diagnosis, which led to my oncologist's recommendation to treat my case aggressively post-surgery. I finished my last infusion of Oxali last week, and take my last dose of Xeloda this coming Monday morning. Then my fi...

Re: Worried about lung mets

Thank you for your responses. Something definitely feels "off" in my chest/back area, but who knows if it's a side effect from the chemo, residual effect from collapsed lung during port insertion, or something else. Your responses were helpful to me. I'm not sure when my next scan is sched...
