Re: Areas of high density in lungs...infection or cancer? UPDATE: BAD NEWS

Just being completely honest. My oncologist is one of the top guys in the area, really knows his stuff and has seen a lot. I too had a weird pattern of spreading and have had unusual PET scan results. My original diagnosis was Colon Cancer and the first PET scan showed enlarged nodes: retroperitonea...

Re: STIVARGA (Regorafenib) - ONGOING PATIENT EXPERIENCES

Just thought I would put in an update. First 10 days of my first cycle went pretty well. Pretty tired most days was really the only problem. But on Day 11 I woke up with a rash over a good chuck of my body, mostly everywhere excepts my face and chest. Still took my 11th dose on that day, knowing I w...

Re: Early (disability) Medicare questions

I went on medicare this year and changed my wife's insurance through work from PPO to HMO. It saved us a lot of money and everything has been seamless..until now...maybe. Going on Stivarga, which is an oral medicine so I'm not sure how much my wife's HMO is going to cover. I didn't get part D, becau...

Re: Bone pain

I wish I had an answer for you. I've been on chemo nonstop for almost three years and started having bone pain in my hip and down the outside parts of both legs from the hip down. No one's really had an answer for me. Ive seen stories that chemo weakens the bones, so I guess that could be it and it'...

Re: STIVARGA (Regorafenib) - ONGOING PATIENT EXPERIENCES

bumping this thread after having read through all nine pages. Two nodules in my lung grew to 2.5 cm on my latest scan and I have lymph node involvement almost everywhere. Trying stivarga next. I'm guessing they don't make any changes to a drug like stivarga once it's out so I'm assuming I can expect...

Re: 3 indeterminate subcentimeter pulmonary nodules

dude, you have to relax. You don't have colon cancer. you had a CT scan already and there was nothing found in your colon. I would suggest you talk to a doctor or a therapist about your hypochondria.

Question for those with lung mets or suspicious nodules in lungs

Just curious how big the nodules in your lungs are and what your Dr's did about them I'll just type what was on my last scan. The first one is the only new nodule. The other ones had never registered on a Pet scan, but showed up on CT scans with contrast, some over a year ago. "There is a new i...

Picking a surgeon

I was diagnosed with stage IV cancer a little over two years ago and have avoided surgery until now. still an olymphian but my oncologist wants me to get colectomy after my tumor in the cecum returned. The problem now is choosing a surgeon. He recommended I pick one of the top two doctors. Both resu...

Re: Stage IV distant lymph node mets only questions

So what should I be asking my doctor to do or what should I expect him to do? We haven't really done any bloodwork because even when I was at the beginning of treatment my CEA was at a normal level. Do I need to look for a better different doctor?? Right noshes' part of a group called Illinois Cance...

Re: Stage IV distant lymph node mets only questions

So here's my story. Take it FWIW but my doctor has been very positive and says I have a better outlook than most stage IV cc patients. I also have a question, probably best answered by rp since he has shown his knowledge to be quite extensive. I was diagnosed in June of 2015 with colon cancer in the...

Re: I'm Stage IV to NED!!! How long does average NED last?

That's incredible mom. So awesome to hear someone surviving with a very similar case to mine., I thought the wide spread lymph node involvement would do me in for sure. It's such a weird feeling. I was getting so prepared to leave this world and now I have to start thinking about the future and gett...

Re: PET Scan Head First?

I have claustrophobia but I found the perfect solution. I just close my eyes. I used to be a nervous wreck even when getting blood drawn so now I just look away. Try it. It works!!!

I'm Stage IV to NED!!! How long does average NED last?

Had the same back pain that led to my initial diagnosis. Coupled with bleeding from the rump (including clots and lots of bright red blood) I thought I was done for even though I had made good progress on each of my two subsequent scans as I did chemo. Instead I get the news that there was no eviden...

Re: I thought it was over...wrong

One suggestion I would make to everyone dealing with bathroom problems that include constipation is squatty potty. It's a stool that elevates your feet and helps you with doing your business. After some constipation to start my folfox regiment, I saw it on shark tank, was like 20ish bucks and it's b...

Re: I have distant lymph node spread only with no organ involvement

I fit this to a T. Here's my story Diagnoes Stage IV in june 2015. Mass in cecum big enough that camera couldn't pass through. CT guided Biopsy proved cancer had spread to lymph nodes in the back. PET scan also showed enlarged lymph nodes near colon, in my chest and on left side of my neck. Foflfox ...
