Re: Keytruda? What else is new?

Thanks all...and good luck! They are testing his MSI. He does have Kras mutation. For those currently on Keytruda: How long have u been on it? Did they give u a length of time you will do it for? How often and how long are treatments? Do you still do regular chemo with it? And, how bad ate side effe...

It's been awhile since I've been on... what's up with Keytruda? Anything else i should know about? Quick overview: Hubby originally stage 3.. then became stage 4 with liver mets and others showing in abdomen and around that area. 6 months of Folfiri with Avastin shrunk EVERYTHING (we also did Iscado...

Re: Unresectable Colorectal Cancer Liver Mets - New Info

I don't know if this will help at all, but Dr originally told us dh liver Mets were unresectable. She was very positive about it. Hubby was speechless and in shock and I just panicked and begged that we try to do aggressive chemo to see if we could shrink them enough to possibly get the surgery. She...

Re: After 65 years of which 4,5 years with cancer my dad has passed away

So sorry to hear this! I was rooting for him and I had added you as friend to follow awhile back to get updates on his journey. I just get back on after months and clicked on your profile, almost excitedly thinking there would be good news. I'm so sorry for your loss..but also so glad to hear how he...

Re: Hubby had liver resection for liver mets

So sorry for the months later reply! Hopefully this can help someone down the road. His recovery after the resection seemed to be worse than all the treatments. It really knocked him down! Mostly, I think it was the extra large cut and location. Moving was very difficult and it was more depressing f...

Hubby had liver resection for liver mets

Hi all, So, the hubby finally got his liver mets small enough to be eligible for resection! We were so excited about the news, we almost instantly took off for vacation (after a good long cry of course.) He had the surgery a week and half ago and he is home recovering. So far, a slow recovery - but ...

Re: New here. any advice, extra info - dh agressive stage 4, possible liver surgery

Hi nik. I'm not really sure :/ She originally said liver, abdomen and rectal area.. but was only pointing out the ones in liver this last ct. I have read that that might make him ineligible for the surgery. ? I've also read that not many people are considered candidates. Hopefully the board of surge...

Yes, the doctor knows not to say too much that would scare him and we discuss when he is not around - and that's what he's asked for.
Right now, she believes the folfiri plus avastin is best and she is taking his case to the surgery board to see if liver resection is possible.

New here. any advice, extra info - dh agressive stage 4, possible liver surgery

Hi all, My Dh's stage 3 progressed to stage 4 about 6 months after chemo. In October nothing showed on CT - However, January it had spread lots (5-6 in liver, abdomen, rectal area) Dr said it was very aggressive and not too much they could do - not resectable. We started aggressive chemo anyway ( fo...
