Re: Results of my clinical trial - pls read, VERY important

Thank you so much for sharing this information. I wish for continued success with these alternative treatments that our doctors do not discuss. I am not on CC very often but will likely be starting FOLFIRI/AVASTIN soon or looking for a trial. I'll be watching for updates. Best of luck!

Re: Dr Kemeny and HAI pump...APPROVED

I have a silly question. Maybe a ridiculous and scary question, from someone with liver and lung mets who has had two resections and watching two more lung spots. I have had read about the HAI pump and Dr K but never considered myself a candidate as I was told I was operable and had liver resected. ...

Re: Stage 4 CC and no scans for first 5 months of treatment?

SuseB, I was VERY unhappy with my treatment in the Chicago Suburbs (Dupage Medical Group). Oncologists with poor bedside manner and they refused to give me any Magnesium/Calcium with my FOLFOX treatments. I had one infusion with them and "walked" out like a stroke victim-hugging the wall, ...

Re: Stage 4 CC and no scans for first 5 months of treatment?

Michelle, I noticed before, you mention going to Northwestern in Chicago? Are you in the area? I am stage IV and trying to decide next steps after I can in next few weeks. Recovering from lung met surgery now, hoping no more buggers appear. Was wondering if your Onc at NW referred you for Keytruda? ...

new-Liver met and lung things...advice?

I'm stage 3b, and finished Xeloda/Oxi in November (2015). Had my scan in December and there was a suspicious spot on my liver. rescanned with CT and PET a couple of weeks ago and Boom! 7mm spot on right lobe liver considered a met and a few suspicious spots on the lungs. My Onc at Northwestern flat ...

Re: Reversal Log: Experience,Problems, Q & A's

Just an update, I'm 18 days post reversal and feel great!! The surgery and recovery was as expected (tired and sore) butt once I took some MoM per dr suggestions-things started rolling with some regularity. Don't get me wrong-I'm still going to the bathroom 5-10x a day, sometimes with gas just to be...

Re: Peejay

Very sorry to hear this. I didn't know PJ; I did bookmark his podcasts for when I'm ready to listen...I do know it's a terrible loss, anyone so young just makes it worse in my opinion. Sending my thought and prayers to his family. Im grateful to still be in the ring fighting.

Re: Your list. Help needed.

Well. I agree with the others and I think the replies cover most everything I've heard so far. Mine was rectal cancer which makes the topic harder for some folks. I'll just add one thing I LOVE. I love when people drop me a line/email/text/call to tell me they're thinking of me. And I love the peopl...

Re: OT :travelling with colostomy, holiday in California!!

I'm so happy for your holiday trips!! I'm planning one for this summer as week-my post chemo and ostomy vacation! I flew a few times in the USA and to Germany/London with my bag. No problems at airport-just maybe an extra pat down. My experience was that I did not being enough supplies to feel comfo...

Re: Reversal Log: Experience,Problems, Q & A's

Well I am in the car heading home from hospital-ostomy reversed Monday. I imagine this is the calm before the storm...only moving a little gas and waiting for the games to begin. This thread has helped me prepare mentally and I've stocked up on a few bathroom essentials. Diet suggestions also apprec...

Re: Not coping with ileo

Lydia, Miss molly and others gave you great advice. I have had temp ileo for 6 months and the first 6-8 weeks were hardest. Now it's a breeze and I never get leaks. For me it was a lot of trial and error-changing every part of solution that didn't work. I wear two wafers (one slim and one normal). A...
