Re: HAI pump criteria

Hello all Does anyone know if Dr. Kemeny will treat someone with liver mets from gastric cancer? I was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer in 2014 and then a new primary of gastric cancer last August. I just found out that I now have liver metastasis. I haven’t seen my oncologist yet to make a plan...

I agree, 1 per customer. Still wrapping my head around it all, and dealing with the fear of what’s next?

Thank you all for your kind responses. It means a lot to hear from fellow fighters and survivors. Trying to put my big girl panties on and head to my first chemo in a couple of hours. Your words have helped me. Thank you.

New stomach primary

Hi all, I found this forum after I completed treatment for stage 3 rectal cancer in January 2015. I haven’t been a big poster but frequent reader and have been helped very much by everyone here. I had a complete pathological response and was feeling confident that I was going to be a lucky survivor....

Re: Using a vaginal dilator after radiation

Hello, There has been other discussion of this topic. If you do a search you will find valuable information. The bleeding is most likely due to thin fragile vaginal lining from the radiation and lack of estrogen. Make sure you are using enough lubricant. I have read of some women switching to someth...

Re: Chills and fever after APR

Hi, I had a similar experience. 2 weeks after my apr surgery I experienced fever and chills. I returned to the hospital. Ended up admitted for another week on IV antibiotics. They did a cat scan looking for abscess which was negative. Chest X-rays also negative. They never found a source of my infec...

Re: Venting !!

sex is nothing like it was. It is painful and something I do for my husband (though he is VERY understanding and never pressures me or even initiates it.) The anger & sadness I feel over the loss of yet another aspect of my pre-cancer life is something I can't begin to put into w I can so relat...

Re: Constipation on resolved byirrigation

Hi kmartin3, Are you talking about irrigating a permenant colostomy ? If yes, I would suggest you visit the UOAA irrigation forum. You will find many knowledgable irrigators to answer your questions. You won't find many here. I do irrigate, when I have issues with constipation, I increase my fluid a...

My deepest condolences to you and your family. I have been wondering about your Dad. He helped me a lot with his advice and encouragement, here and on the UOAA board. I'm very sorry.

Re: New PET scan , not good.

Tanya, my heart breaks that you had to hear that news. Keep in mind that she doesn't have all the info yet and even so I have read so many stories on this board of people who have heard news like this and went on to prove those doctors wrong. Please call mskcc ASAP to get in for second opinion. Send...

Re: New PET scan , not good.

Hi Tanya, I'm sorry that you are going through this. Try not to jump to worse case scenario while waiting to hear from your doctor. I think you should be on the phone demanding to speak with someone about your results. Having to wait through the weekend seems unacceptable to me. Be pushy if you have...
